Boutique hotel convenient to everything

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The amenities, location, genuine customer service, (free massages). Plus the lifesize cow is very welcoming.
Cons: It would be helpful to have maps of the transit lines for the city. I like to get around towns using the bus or light rail but only found the RTD.
Location: Within 5 blocks: biking/jogging trail along creek, 16th St ped shopping mall Convention Center. w/free RTD& short walk Mint, city hall, museums, univ
Fabulous! The staff were wonderful, free coffee in the morning, free wine and massages at 5, free bicycles to borrow (with helmets), pet friendly! This hotel was great! Even the housekeeping staff were concerned about the guests (you need your coat, it's cold this morning). Very sweet. They happened to have their annual fire drill just as I was checking out so I couldn't get my suitcase downstairs, The wonderful gentleman in charge went up and had them turn on the elevators and retrieve my (very heavy) suitcase for me.

Comfy, Unpretentious Hotel in Downtown Denver

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: They have a free wine tasting in the lobby at 5pm
Location: It is four blocks from the Convention Center, a block from 16th St pedestrian mall, near lots of restaurants and bars.
I have never stayed at a Kimpton hotel before. Hotel Monaco in Denver wasn't grossly expensive, the staff were super-friendly and helpful. It was very comfortable, and was not at all uptight. I was impressed and will certainly consider Kimpton hotels in my future travel plans.

Beautiful hotel in a great location.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Monaco. Just like the first time, I was very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, and the beautiful hotel.

Anniversary Surprise

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: Clean, Fun, Art Deco, not traditional, great service, comfortable.
Cons: Nothing that cannot be avoided with urban hotels - offsite parking is required for additional fee, but the valet service is excellent!
Location: Panzano Restaurant!!! A Block off the 16th Street mall.
Booked through Expedia for a surprise in Downtown Denver on St. Patrick's day for my wife returning from a vaca in NYC. A bit pricey, but what I was expecting on St. Pat's day. I did NOT want to stay in a big name brand hotel, but was looking for an older, more eclectic place, and Hotel Monaco served it up! As is typical in downtown Denver, no onsite parking, but the valet parking was impeccable. As soon as I hit the turn signal to head for the curb to the front of the Hotel, the doorman was already in the street waiting to open my door and welcome me. We had reservations to the Keg restaurant, and they called mid afternoon the same day and said they had to cancel (Boo Them!) so I asked the checking staff if they had recommendations, and they of course said the hotel had a great restaurant (I just assumed that they are required to say that) and we went there for happy hour and had the most fabulous appetizers and selections of beers. My wife needs to go gluten-free so we always feel limited, but they had gluten free beer, wild boar salami pizza and OMG the fried brussel sprouts!!! After a quick bar nosh, we were surprised to find a free hosted wine hour in the art deco foyer!! The room was extremely clean, comfortable and each room comes with your own personal pet gold fish to keep you company. Room was very comfortable with fun cow themed bed cover and animal print bathrobes and complimentary yoga mat. We opted for breakfast room service and it was delisch!

Hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at

Posted Feb 17, 2014
This hotel is the best ever. Everyone is super friendly. The rooms are gorgeous! They offer a wine happy hour with free wine and apps from 5-6. you can also request a pet fish to keep in your room during your stay. We requested two!!! Also, the restaurant connected to the hotel is fabulous. They have a great happy hour deal on food and drinks. My girlfriend and I split about 5 dishes. Any city I go to visit in the future I will always be looking for Kimpton hotels. I was beyond impresses with everything!

Dog friendly, clean

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Dog friendly
Cons: Free parking
Location: Love the 16th Street open mall area!!
Nice room, no coffee pot though. Dog friendly which we loved. The down beds are unfortunately gone, which was one reason we booked there again, we miss those. Parking fee has increased to $33 a night which is unfortunate as well.
