Disappointed in this hotel

Posted Oct 29, 2014
Location was good. Parking was difficult. Hotel needs renovation. Air conditioner extremely noisy & woke me up every time it came on during the night. Wouldn't stay here again.

Room so disappointing; common areas nice.

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Location; common areas; restaurants, etc.
Cons: See above.Think the standard room in the Tower is poor. Furniture really worn; not enough pillows; minimum sundry items; no fitted sheets, etc.
Location: Great location; good food, nice areas to walk to; easy access to Denver b-cycle program.
This is my first time that I used Expedia to book a room. The Sheraton looked nice online and the common spaces and the location are terrific. Nearly all the staff was excellent as well. However, upon check-in we were put in such an awful room. It was tiny; had the absolute worst view; smelled terribly and did not feel clean at all. there was a big black mark on the carpet and the smell was some awful perfume likely to mask a smoker's room. I called and complained and was put in another room that was better but overall the "standard" room in the Tower is not nice at all and not worth staying in again even though the Sheraton common areas are nice.

Great location, aging Tower rooms

Posted Oct 22, 2014
This hotel has an outstanding location with the 16th street mall and it's vibrancy right outside the door. Tower rooms starting to show some aging, although very comfortable. One downside is thin walls and being able to hear your neighbors every move.

Nice hotel close to many stores.

I stayed at this hotel during the weekend of my graduation. It was very close to the Colorado Convention Center and other buildings where activities were held. Enjoyed walking and listening to music and the chatter of visitors and locals.

Pros: Lobby was nice.
Cons: The AC in the room was an old system and hard to regulate. When we finally got the fan off cause it sounded like a jet engine, it got too warm.
Location: 16th street mall, walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. We have temperpedic so not used to regular mattresses and pillows melted down to nothing. The room temperature was hard to regulate. The AC fan was really loud but the room was too warm when we turned it off. Not a good nights sleep. Little deferred maintenance in the room. Light switch in bathroom was loose,

Great! Only one issue...

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Location right on the 16th Street Mall.
Cons: The Wifi was Horrible!! Even after they gave me a free upgrade to the high-speed access, I could not connect, the connection dropped. Disappointing!!!
Location: 16th Street Mall. Tons of nearby activities and restaurants.
The quality of this hotel is top notch. We just came in to Denver to see a late night show, so we decided to just stay the night in town. Great room. Very comfortable.

Dated hotel close to the Convention Center

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Location. Staff
Cons: Needs an update. Nice pool area but no hot tub.
Location: 16th street mall. Colorado Convention Center. Many restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel staff was very nice and personable. The hotel is next to the 16th street mall, the convention center, and many restaurants. The room I had was very large, but it had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. perhaps that is because it was in the older "tower" not sure. It felt like trying to use a bathroom on an airplane. The room had a can ceiling light that fell out of the ceiling on the second day. It needs a major update.

In town one night for a business meeting.

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Location, lobby, meeting spaces.
Cons: Room décor.
Location: Downtown Denver is a great place to visit.
Asked for the standard room - it was clean, though a little stark. Nice bathroom, lacking a mirror and light at the vanity. Happy to have the coffee pot and a free bottle of water. Comfortable bed. All good.

Convenient to downtown.

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Location: Right off 16th Street Mall. Short walks to restaurants, cafes and shops.
The hotel was clean, employees were friendly, check-in was seamless, the bed was very comfortable. The first room we checked into however smelled strongly of cigarettes. When I called Guest Services, the phone rang about 15 times before it was answered. Once answered though, the staff was very apologetic and offered to move us. They brought our new room keys to us and apologized profusely. The second room was fine. Really, my issue with the hotel was that, while it was "fine" and "comfortable", it really wasn't worth the almost-$200/night rate, PLUS another $30 for parking. There was nothing extra or special to justify that rate. I feel they take advantage of being in a convenient location. I found out later too that I could have received a big discount if I had mentioned my reason for being there. Some other guests told me they were asked if they were there for such-and-such reason. I was not asked, and didn't know to mention it.
