The Cruise Room - This sophisticated bar opened to much hoopla the day after Prohibition was repealed, and was renovated in 1933 to resemble a lounge on RMS Queen Mary. Show recreation optionsGuests have complimentary access to the Oxford Club Spa & Salon, that offers an ideal urban escape for men and women seeking relaxation and renewal. Inside an elegant Victorian building built in 1912 is a fitness club and a full service spa and salon that is open to the public. The downtown Denver spa and salon, the first in Denver, opened its doors in 1987 after award-winning preservationist and visionary Dana Crawford saw a need for an urban sanctuary.
The South Platte Valley, a sprawling area less than 1 mile northwest of downtown Denver, has a river lined with bike paths and parks. The 314-acre City Park, less than 5 miles from downtown, contains a golf course, tennis courts, horseshoes, baseball, football and soccer fields, two lakes, and picnic tables.
Summit County, a little more than an hour west of Denver, includes four popular ski areas: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin. The Ski Train takes skiers and sightseers from Union Station, across the street from the hotel, to Winter Park Resort on Fridays and weekends from December through April and Saturdays in summer.
