    “Superlative Service”

Superlative Service is what separates the Ritz-Carlton from the rest! Everyone there made it seem that "my wish was their command." Pleasant greetings at every turn, no waiting in lines, solicitous entreats, and swift, accurate service were the name of the game. Many hotels have beautiful furnishings and nice surroundings, but few that I've experienced have the level of quality response that I found at the Denver Ritz-Carlton.

    “dependable Ritz quality”

On our recent trip we knew we could depend on the Ritz. The help is so well trained and lovely. The hotel is beautiful and did everything to make us comfortable. I did find our bed to be a bit uncomfortable with a bit of sagging in the center. One night there was very loud banging on the door next to us from kids trying to get into their room. It could have woken the dead. We didn't tell the hotel as it was rude guests, not the fault of the hotel. I would definately return as the great things far outweighed the slight inconveniences.

Denver is a tough city to figure out. There are really great things about the not so great parts as well as the obvious parts. Lots of good restaurants.

    “Good Stay”

Nice hotel, great restaurant and good downtown location with easy access to events & activities (nightlife, shopping, etc.). Not quite as on top of the details as other Ritz locations where we've stayed (missed a wake up call) but still very nice and comfortable. We would stay there again if ever back in Denver.

    “Denver High”

With the exception of valet service upon check-out, I was quite pleased with the Ritz. I would not recommend the food at "Elways" restaurant, but the staff was extremely kind and courteous. The major problem was upon check-out. We were travelling to the east coast and wanted a early start. We checked out of the hotel @ 3:30 but did not receive our car until 4:15. Our flight was scheduled for 6:00am, so you can imagine the anxious minutes until the car was finally located. If you have an early flight, I recommend that you request that the car be pulled around the night before.

    What to pack
The weather was great but could change quickly. I recommend that sweaters and jackets in you plan to travel in September.
    Must see
Pikes Peak and Air Force Academy. For those of us who love the slots, the small cities surrounding Denver are great.

    “5 star service”

Just came back from a 3 night stay at the Ritz Carlton @ Denver. Hotel Service is above and beyond. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, pretty much what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, with reasonable prices. Although the immediate vicinity of the hotel is good, downtown Denver generally is somewhat unpolished and dirty. $28 for overnight parking was a little steep, but valet service was great.

“It's like staying at the friggin' Ritz”

It's the people that make the difference at the end of the day. They are not petty. My wife wanted a two sodas for her and her Mom. Some angel delivered them to her in the lobby and waived off the cost. Everything was great, and we were not the easiest guests to handle. I really like Elways because it caters enough to the locals that it has a nice mix of people in it at night, not the the tomb of some high priced hotels where you are stuck with over priced drinks and little else. They cater to the locals by having humane price points. The breakfast crew could go back to Ritz hospitality school for a bit of brushing up and the bar stools are in bad need of restuffing. But, these things will take time, and I am not certain that Elway's is a Ritz property. It might be a concession, but I am sure they have the Ritz thumb on them if they need to. I have been a three decade devotee of another venerable downtown property and have been searching for a Plan B for a few years. This might be it. Nice place. Great people. Easy menu at Elways, but not the same surf and turf. Mostly, they are not petty or stuffy.
