Worst Night Ever - AvoidPosted Jul 9, 2015
Cons: Knocking it down...
Location: Its Derby...Go figure.
I know it was cheap, But cheap doesn't mean it has to be dirty and awful. Room was dirty and hot and not possible to open window as broken. They had put a fan in there but it didn't work. Not happy, but they changed my room to an equally dirty room of squalor, however this time the window was open and I had a nice roaring road outside. Guess you get what you pay for... Oh, and the breakfast was rotten. I had a bit of toast as the bacon was rock hard, The hashbrowns were soggy oil dripping heart attacks and the eggs and mushrooms were swimming in something putrid. Still, I didn't have to pay for that as I left it all...

Convenient and simple comfortPosted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: Convenience to venue
Cons: Maintenance. Needs some improvement. Staff manner in certain areas.
Location: Derby: football, shopping, annual events. Short drive to bigger attractions like Alton Towers, Chatsworth House etc
Having been attending a wedding reception nearby we had parked in the hotel car park before checking in. Someone mentioned restricted parking at the venue so I called the hotel to give reg no. They initially had no record of my booking and told me it was a good job I'd called when I did as it was the last family room and wasn't yet made up. They checked me in over the phone, advised me what to do when we arrived and despite a small delay while a suitable room card was found, all was well. We had a reasonable nights sleep but we're disturbed by what sounded like the emptying of bins (at 8am on a Sunday!) on waking my boyfriend went to take a shower to find there was no hot water. With little over half an hour before we needed to check out we called reception. They didn't seem too concerned (a plumber was on his way), though when pushed as we deemed it unacceptable, they provided the three of us with buffet breakfast FOC. The waitress there was brilliant and could not have helped us more! Slightly disappointed but they rallied a little.

We were treated politely and efficiently by the reception staff. The room was comfortable and we had a good night's rest.

Excellent Hotel and very good value for money.Posted Apr 26, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed in this hotel for five nights. Very clean , quiet area. 15 minutes walking distance from town center But far enough to have a relaxed and pleasant sleep overnight. Good parking facility. A bit of improvement in shower-toilet room ,would make it perfect.(Had a slight smell of mold ), I think due to water leak on carpet.

Poor!Posted Apr 23, 2015 on Hotels
Room was so smelly - I had to be asked to move. They only had a single left, and I subsequently had a terrible nights sleep.

stay to watch crisketPosted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
ideal hotel for stay to watch cricket as it overlooks the county ground. Only downside about 15 minute walk to town through an industrial area. Very enjoyable help yourself breakfast

Days HotelPosted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: The staff were helpful and the facilities were good.
The Hotel was a short walk from the centre of Derby and there was some noise on one evening from youths in cars but otherwise it was a pleasant experience
