Perfect hotel for a short break in Derby close to the Museum of Making and the Cathedral. Good eating options nearby too. Room was compact and mattress was not the most comfortable but it was okay for the 2 nights we were there.

Not great . There was urine in the loo and surrounding area when I arrived. Staff were not bothered which was slightly disconcerting . Really noisy room from the busy road. Bed was lumpy . The staff were welcoming and cheerful and the lobby had a lovely scented smell. I would not stay here again due to the above or recommend.

Nice room, clean and modern, great parking. Breakfast not as good as last time I stayed and coffee from the breakfast machine was cold, no bread for toasting. I was given a voucher for a complementary coffee in check in, waited to be served sometime by barman who was not very friendly to be told the coffee machine was out of order!

Upon arrival I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism and positive attitude of the young lady (Jasmine) on reception. She went above and beyond what I’d expect and her customer service was extraordinary! Well done and thanks. This first impression meant for a very enjoyable stay and I will most certainly return.

Clean but run by monkeys it seems!
Rooms were clean. Taps were only putting out hot water. No cold. No fridge in the room. The fact you have to pay for parking is ridiculous. £8 for one night! I’m already paying to stay in the hotel!! Key cards didn’t work on the lifts and they stopped working again in the early hours in the morning so we couldn’t access our room. We had to get this sorted by the reception. Absolutely ridiculous! Won’t be staying here again.

Great Stay
Great stay, front of desk staff were brilliant and very helpful. The room was lovely, clean and comfy. Breakfast is wonderful with everything and more that you could possibly want, again the staff work really hard to keep the tables clean and re-set them up once they are free and the kitchen staff are constantly topping up the buffet. Will be staying again soon. Thank you

Ok…..
It was fine - room comfortable , no kettle in room , reported to reception on going out for drinks in the evening . Explained not an issue tonight but would like for the morning - no kettle in the morning !!! Checked out early and went to a local coffee place a bit frustrated , shame simple thing to solve

Not the most up todate hotel but clean and comfortable. Close to the centre for walking. Limited parking beneath the hotel ( I found a place) which has a fee. Had a high room so little traffic noise. Didn't take breakfast. Reception fairly straight forward if slightly lacking in 'happy face welcome'. Derby isn't the easiest place to drive around/ through.

Carpets need to be changed.
The carpets are old and need to be changed as they smell not too good. Also, the bathroom needs upgrading and the walls redecorated. The curtains in the room need changing.

Ok for a cheap overnight
The bathroom was grim and hadn’t been cleaned properly and the bar staff looked totally annoyed to have to serve you.

I liked this hotel!😀
Nice hotel! My room (724) was quite big, pretty comfortable - and quiet: I slept very well. The hotel felt (and smelled) very clean - you notice it as soon as you enter the spacious reception area. Encouraging. I had a meal in the bar area on Saturday evening. The food was fine though perhaps not wildly exciting. What impressed me was the charming young bar staff, who worked really hard. For instance, when there was a lull between customers, the young bar man got straight down to re-sanitising the bar area: one can imagine other young staff might regard a lull purely as time for a bit of down time, a chat ... These young people were impressive, I thought. Polite and helpful too. Breakfast, though commendably varied in its offerings (beetroot and spelt bread, anyone?) wasn't quite so impressive: industrial scrambled eggs which had been overcooked (almost bouncy in texture!) and fried eggs which had simply been too long under the keep-warm lights, growing that tell-tale unappealing crust over the yolks. The hotel is a little way from the station but once you get there, convenient for the pleasant "Cathedral Quarter". So, yes, I liked this hotel and shall be very happy to choose it again next time I visit Derby.

Bang average hotel- the outside looks better than the inside- we were given a room with an accessible toilet, massive space for us, but not particularly clean. Bed was uncomfortable too. The suggested car park from the hotel was going to be on a road that was due to be closed- the lad at the front desk told me he had spaces to park underneath the hotel, i walked to go get my car from the other place to get to the car park which was full! Can’t complain on price, and derby seemed an alright place
