Lovely location with great views.Posted Nov 2, 2014
Great B&B. Room was large and very clean, however the bed felt smaller than a double...comfy though. Lovely cooked breakfast freshly cooked. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Great PlacePosted Aug 21, 2014
From the start to leaving the Hotel we felt at ease with the very friendly owners and staff. The beer was great, evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was of quality food. A nice touch in the bedroom was a glass of sherry and a sweet. Well done for making our experience very enjoyable. Peter & Maureen

Lovely rural locationPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff and their dog !
Cons: A tiny criticism was perhaps they could dust the front porch. This did not detract from our enjoyment. Well done.
We booked an overnight stay following a trip to Tatton Park flower show. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal was a very good standard, i was unsure what a Sunday evening meal would be like. We were sorry it was only one night loved the area would be back.

What A find! Sheer Delight!Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The warm friendly welcome. The gorgeous food, both evening meal plus a brilliant breakfast!
Cons: Find it difficult to suggest how this Inn could be improved! Prices reflect the type of room chosen. Food is first class. Welcome wa second to none.
Location: On the edge of the Peak District/ Cheshire. Lots of places to visit but would need car. Good walking area. Beautiful Scenery.
Decided to have an overnight stay so we could visit National Trust Places in the area. We needed somewhere to sleep & enjoy an evening meal at the premises What we discovered was a character Inn, with a very pleasant double room at an extremely reasonable price. Despite being the cheapest price every need was catered for and the size of the room was spacious and very clean, with a stunning view from the window. We immediately felt at home due to the welcome we received from the staff and owners. We felt as though we were 'special guests' instead of a couple just passing through. The evening meal was absolutely delicious, the menu was varied so choosing was difficult ( no bad thing!) Eventually we chose a main course of traditional roast beef with all the trimmings, it is no exaggeration to say it is without doubt the most delicious beef I have tasted! We ate at a leisurely pace, no rushing to move on the next course and one of the owners, who is the chef, made sure that all was cooked exactly as we liked it. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Afterwards we retired to the cosy bar and unusually we joined in conversation with other residents, local people and the owners who are a husband wife team. Still in her chef whites the couple sat down and chatted as friends without being intrusive. Breakfast times were discussed without any pressure to eat early, in fact there was much laughter and relaxation throughout. A truly memorable evening .

Short break amidst beautiful scenery.Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Its splendid location.
Cons: We didn't like the the synthetic layer on top of the mattress or the synthetic blanket - particularly as the weather was very warm.
Location: Superb setting, lots and lots to do - outdoors and in: we hope to find time to return and do everything we weren't able to do on this ocasion
An excellent spot to explore the Macclesfield area, we enjoyed the scenic drives and views - we were made very welcome at the hotel and were comfortable. An individual pub with 'character'

Great location for walking in the Peak DistrictPosted Jun 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Situated near Macclesfield Forest (I didn't even know Macclesfield had a forest!) it is a great location to use as a base for driving to different walks in the Peak District. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfy and clean and situated in a separate building to the main pub/restaurant. The small double bed was just that - even though the room was large enough to house a bigger one, but that's just my preference. The home-cooked food was very tasty and plentiful and the owners were excellent hosts chatting to guests over breakfast. I would certainly stay here again.

Will be going backPosted May 31, 2014
Had a lovely experience in the Peak District staying at the Stanley Arms. The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful. We didn't know the area for walks so the owner lent us a guidebook which provided a lovely walk from the b&b and back again. The homemade food was delicious and filling and definitely value for money. We are planning a return journey in the not too distant future.

Great food & comfy room. I will returnPosted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stay in 3 or 4 hotels a week and always try to stay in the small country pubs. Staying at this one reinforced why I do this - great food, great service, peaceful location, comfortable & quiet rooms. I couldn't fault anything so this one goes into my 'stay here next time I'm in the area' book. Thanks, guys

Couldn't have asked for a better spot for a weekend getaway. Perfectly located for walking, yet easy to find. Lovely peaceful views: fields, hills, sheep... Room was spotless and comfortable, with heaps of hot water (very important, if you ask me). Dinner was good with some highlights (Bottom O'Th'Oven Lamb and the brie parcels) and reasonably priced, with good substantial options for after a day's walking. Best full English I've had in a while, with friendly efficient service. All in all, excellent value for money and will happily return.
