One night StayPosted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: It was good for the price and the distance to Ames was as advertised.
Cons: The foul smell and maybe updated rugs and such/
Location: We were there for Football game in Ames so we did not look around much.
It was just OK.....but for the price it was good. The room had a foul order when we walked in. You could tell the rugs and the furniture was worn and old. The heating cooling system was old but it kept us warm for the night. The bed was very comfortable. I normally do not sleep well in a strange bed but I must say I did get a good nights sleep. We will go back - every 2 years Oklahoma is in Ames for football so we will go back. A nice easy drive to Jack Trice stadium. Next trip with Expedia I will have to mention I am handicap and this hotel did not have any rooms left on the first floor and no elevator.

DIsappointed in experiencePosted Sep 7, 2014
The hotel desk staff were very nice. The roomhowever was quite dirty. The carpeting was stained throughout the room, the bathroom door had strips of paint missing, and the radiator cover completely fell off onto the fkoor when we went to adjust the room temperature. The bed sheets were scratchy.

Iowa State FairPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Close to the freeway. Comfortable beds. Good food.
Cons: The smell in the room was not their fault.
Staff was good. Free breakfast was great. The room smelled of burnt popcorn for the 2 days we were there.

Workers were very helpful when we were in need.Posted Aug 18, 2014
Cons: The bathroom toilet was loose and the hot faucet of the tub leaked
Location: We were going to the Iowa State Fair it is only 12 miles away at Des Moines.
The person checked up in right away and was very helpful showing us where to go for supper. Cafe very nice and food was good. When we locked ourself out of the room they were very accommodating. Our car battery was dead in the morning. One of the housekeeping staff immediately went for help leaving her job and the maintainance dept. helped us jump it and get us able to get on our way. They looked at it breifly and suggested a local auto place to get it checked. We really appreciated the helpfulness of the staff as I was traveling with 4 children with disabilities and appreciated all the help they gave us.

DisappointedPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The convenience of location
Cons: Bed, and staff training
The mattress was worn out, kept fighting to get out of the middle of the bed. Staff was terrible and it wasn't just one. It started from check in when the man kept talking on the phone in the office. And the women at check out was confused.

Trip to AdventurelandPosted Aug 13, 2014
The hotel was fine - the only thing I saw was the carpeting coming in the door on the side and the steps up REALLY needed to be vacuumed. There was a Q-tip on the floor the whole stay. Other than that, the hotel was fine.

Pros: Bed was best I've ever slept in at a motel. Shower was great too.
Cons: They need to clean the carpet. I could feel grit on the floor when walking bare foot in my room. Yuuuukkkky!
Location: Good location as far as food and entertainment.
Had a terrible time getting to the motel. Was not marked on the street so could not figure out how to enter the motel lot. Could see the sign from the road but could not find the entrance to the motel with out seeking help. They really need to get that taken care of.
