Very Comfortable and Clean

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: I liked most the very comfortable bed.
Cons: Can't think of anything at the moment.
This is my first time staying at an Econo Lodge Hotel, and I was a little hesitant to make the booking. But I'm so glad I did. The hotel staff was very friendly, my room was very clean and nice, and I was surprised at how comfortable the bed was. That's a very important aspect to me. And they had numerous very comfortable, down-type pillows. I normally only find beds and pillows like that at much more expensive hotels. Also, I was in a rush to get going the next morning, so I didn't have time to try out their complimentary breakfast, but it's nice to know they had it. So I was very happy with my stay, and will stay there again whenever I travel back that way. I will certainly consider staying at Econo Lodges in other cities in the future.

Pros: cheap, easy to get to and from
Cons: breakfast, especially the coffee
Location: not far from downtown Des Moines, also right next to many popular chain restaurants and stores
It's your average Econo Lodge, which is to say it's like any other budget-type hotel chain. It's not the Ritz but it's a clean place to sleep at a decent price. The location was pretty good. It's not in the middle of downtown or anything, but I was able to get around to where I needed fairly easily and quickly. The breakfast wasn't anything special (muffins, waffles, bad coffee, juice), but it's nice to have that option included.

Pros: The staff were nice and the rooms were clean
Cons: Nothing
Location: Restaurants were near by with lots of options
My booking was done for the incorrect date but the Hotel and Expedia worked it out for me without me having to lift a finger.

Last minute decision

Pros: It was clean, and easy to get to.
Location: We were in Des Moines for the Renaissance Faire, which runs the first three weekends of September.
We had planned to camp for the night, but our air mattress died, so instead of sleeping on the cold, hard ground my wife looked to Expedia for help finding a room at the late hour. We decided Econolodge seemed like a good deal and a reasonable price. They had a room still available, so we booked it for that night, drove across town and enjoyed a good night's sleep.

The hotel pictures online made the hotel look way nicer than it was. The room smelled old and it was ran down. Could use updates

Pros: price, clean comfortable room.
Cons: more choices for breakfast
Clean comfortable room, quick check-in, price is right, parking lot was not marked well and not well lit, breakfast was OK but would have like to have more choices, good place to stay.

Pros: Rooms were clean and front desk staff were friendly.
Cons: Mattress was a little soft....but that is strictly personal preference.
We were looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price. We were in Des Moines to move our kids--so just needed a comfortable place to sleep at a decent price. We found both at the Econo Lodge. The room was clean and the front desk staff were friendly. We were not looking for a lot of frills.....just a clean place to sleep. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again in the future.
