Pros: The buffet breakfast was delicious and Mike the driver was excellent. I liked that the shuttle carried you to places within a certain area.
Location: It was a few things to do. Needed a car to adventure out. We did on day.
The room very nice and roomy. I like having the setting area away from the bedroom. Having 2 television was awesome.

Pros: The rooms were quiet and private. The decor upscale and new. Breakfast was great.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: Court street within walking distance and is the main strip for restaurants and bars. There is a hotel shuttle to nearby areas.
This was a great experience. I love the suite as the bedroom is private from the living area. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was grand as were the staff. There is a also a complimentary manager's reception every evening from 5:30-7:30 that offers 2 complimentary drinks and some snacks.

No water

Pros: The staff was up front about the water being turned off, but supplied plenty of bottled water for the evening.
Wonderful food, staff and room. Loved the breakfast and evening reception.

Terrible Service

Pros: The breakfast omelets were good.
Cons: The hotel should make certain that if a guest is taken somewhere by their van a return ride is available or options are explained in advance.
Location: Very convenient location to all downtown activities - concerts, farmers' market, etc..
My family and I used the shuttle service to attend a concert. After the concert, the we called for the shuttle four times and it never showed. Finally, after having been told at least twice the shuttle was on the way, we were told there was no service after 11:00 P.M. and told to take a taxi. When we finally returned to the hotel, I asked to speak to the night manager and was told that even though the manager knew about us being stranded he had just left the building for the night. When I complained to the only person available, the desk clerk, I was fed a line about the police refusing to allow vans to the site where we were waiting. This was a total line of baloney as multiple vans and buses came to the exact spot we were waiting. And, even if true, why in one of the four calls we made weren't we told and asked to move to a different site? When I pointed this out to the desk clerk, she did apologize, and offered to adjust my bill. The next morning I had a note stating I'd get $5.00 for the surface parking charge and a few Hilton Honors points.

Fourth of July

Pros: Close to downtown
Cons: Maid service
I expected the rooms to be a little bigger than they were. I was very surprised the beds were small for double beds...usually they are at least queen size. I was not happy to come back to our rooms and see that our beds were not made. I've never stayed in a hotel before where the maids did not make beds. Very poor...not sure I will stay there again.

The staff is expected to make all the beds on a daily basis, the only exception being a situation where the guest has left a significant amount of personal belongings or paperwork on the bed in which case we would not want to disturb those items. Downtown Des Moine

Location: bars, food, river, arena
Real nice hotel. Great walking distance to all the bars, restaurants and the Wells Fargo Arena where we say a concert. Nice complementary breakfast and happy hour.

Broken bed

Nice facility, typical for the chain. Bed was broken and tilted to the side making sleep difficult.

Love Embassy Suites

Pros: I like the two room suites, the breakfast in the morning, the evening reception, the pool, the waterfalls, and the location.
