Great price, great location

The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The beds are very comfortable and the room was big enough for my family of 6. Nice breakfast too.

High ceilings in the heart of Des Moines

A friendly and prompt staff, clean and bright room with high ceilings and a location in the heart of Des Moines made this hotel the perfect place for my stay. I recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Downtown Des Moines.

Close to Wells Fargo Arena

Pros: It was centrally located and with in walking distance to many Des Moines attractions.
Cons: Make sure that furniture is being cleaned under, not just around.
Location: The capitol building was only about 6 blocks away, Wells Fargo Arena, Hyvee Hall, and many downtown shops were all close by.
The hotel was very close to our destination for the PBR. Hotel was very elite and modern in facilities. Pool size was somewhat disappointing after seeing picture on internet. When looking for my daughter's goggles to go swimming, we found a past guests crusty old pizza under the sofa and and two packs of cigarettes.

Great downtown hotel!

Loved my stay here! Only complaint is you have no other option than to use valet parking so if you have multiple vehicles, and are staying for awhile this can get costly. At $15.00 a day can not complain too much and staff was VERY helpful. Beds and pillows extremely comfortable!

Huge room in Central Des Moines

I stayed at the Hyatt Place for a convention last week. The room was very large, included a sectional couch with a pull out bed, and had a glass door shower. Everything was very clean, and the internet was free. If I had to make any comments for improvement, it would be that the cushions on the couch were noticeable fraying. Did that affect my enjoyment or comfort in the room? No. Overall a great property conveniently located a few blocks walk from almost everything in downtown.

Inexperienced staff

Front Desk and Valet staff appeared clueless; had been insufficiently trained. Lock didn't work in room. No valet in the morning. Will never stay here again.

Excellent Service

From the moment we walked in, my wife and I were treated to wonderful hospitality and friendliness by every employee of Hyatt Place. The room was clean and well-maintained, the front desk was helpful in navigating the complicated Des Moines SkyWalk (which the Hyatt is connected to!), and I felt very well taken care of. If we're in Des Moines again, we'll definitely be staying here a second time.

Great Downtown Hotel

Pros: Free breakfast, free wi-fi, friendly staff.
Location: It is in Downtown, but Des Moines downtown is pretty small. Shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go. They are connected to the skywalk.
I have always liked Hyatt Place. Great free breakfast in the morning. Friendly staff with excellent recommendations of places to eat, and the shuttle will even take you there. Room was comfy. Loved the free wi-fi. I like staying at hotels like this rather than staying at higher end hotels where they charge for everything, breakfast, wi-fi, etc. As a side note, the shuttle does not start running until 6 am, and I had a 7 am flight, so I had to to get a taxi for that one. Didn't mind and it is a quick taxi trip, but if you are depending on the shuttle to take you back to the airport, you will want to take a later flight.

Nice hotel in the heart of downtown Des Moines

I was admittedly a frazzled guest when I arrived at the hotel because it was my first experience of driving in the snow. However, I was promptly greeted by a very friendly bell hop who informed me of the option of valet parking; let my much needed relaxation get a way begin! The staff was amazing, the amenities were very clean and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast options were great!
