“Close to Airport”

This hotel is just down the road from the airport. It is not right across from it but it does have a shuttle. Nice hotel with a Bennigan's restuarant. Friendly staff and a good cleaning service. I would stay here again. It is shopping malls and stores close by if you have a car for the last minute shopping.

“Great location and service”

One night stay...close to the airport, very nice staff and great location for shopping and dinner. Minus...washing machine was dirty.

“Convenient location”

The hotel and staff were both very good. The service at the adjoining Bennigann's was not what I'm accustomed too. We ate dinner there the first night. The hostess' argued in front of us saying "I don't know what they want". We had simply requested to not be seated at a high top table.....but were seated there anyway. Then the complimentary breakfast served cold food. The juice machine was empty. The food had a texture that appeared to be made the day before. Best Western would be better represented by ceasing ties with this Bennigann's and serving a continental breakfast in your own front conference room.

“Room key didn't work”

When I checked in my room key card did not work. Maintenance replaced the lock and it worked for a while but the next morning it wasn't working again. Had to have the desk clerk let me into my room several times.

West Des Moines area has more to offer for restaurants and shopping.

“free breakfast was almost inedible”

The hotel is a bit old, the hot tub controls don't appear to be working. The water in the hot tub was a bit too hot, and this was hard to regulate. The free breakfast in the AM featured some luke warm to cold foods, including very old cereals. I guess I should go back to the national chains featuring a continental breakfast you can eat! The room was OK, the rest of the features were not.

“slow but sure”

My biggest beef with this hotel is the restaurant, it is really terrible if you'd like a normal sized (not super-sized) healthy meal. Lots of fried food and high-fat dishes. Appreciated the timely airport shuttle, which runs 24 hours, every 15 minutes.

“dirty”

The staff did not know how to check us in because we paid through Expedia. The door keys would not open the exterior doors. The room was dirty, there was blood on the floor, and beds in the beds. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I will never stay there again.

“Better than expected”

We were really impressed with this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the pool was wonderful. We would stay here again.

Area recommendations

Visit the Blank Park Zoo. Unlike some of the zoos we have visited, the animals are actually out where you can see them up close.

“Nice, but had ants.”

Everything was great. The only problem was that there were ants in my room. When I checked out, I mentioned this to the gentlemen behind the counter. His only response was, "But no other problems, right? No noise issues?"
