“Good for the price!”

Was in town for a wedding and decided to make a whole weekend out of it! The hotel is close enough to a lot of different things to. Including Jordan Creek mall.

“Friendly staff”

Friendly staff in a good location to the Living History Farms Race. The hotel decor is dated and a little worn, but was fine for the price. The breakfast is the morning was good and I was thrilled to see peanut butter packets- I love to have a prerace meal of a peanut butter bagel. I would have like to see some fruit available, but overall good and straight shot to the race site,

Not knowing anything about the area I was afraid it could be in a bad part of town; but that was not the case. It was very clean and the people were very nice. I would definitely choose this hotel the next time I'm in the area.

The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. There was popcorn and cookies available in the lobby upon our arrival. The room was old and dingy, but comfortable. There were creepy men hanging out in the lobby and some truckers whistled and hollered at us in the parking lot, so it was a little unsettling that from the lobby they were able to see what room we went to (We were two young females, traveling alone). Other than that, it was a fairly decent experience. The hotel had great breakfast available for free in the morning which was extremely convenient as we had a long day of driving ahead of us. There are also restaurants and gas stations within walking distance of the hotel which was nice (although the restaurant we went to was dingy as well, not very good). The hotel was what I expected from a highway hotel... although maybe the price could have been cheaper? The hotel we stayed at in our next stop was the same price and about a thousand times nicer. Otherwise, the Super 8 West Des Moines/Clive IA got us what we needed - a place to sleep for a cheap price on a long road trip.

“OLD RUN DOWN HOTEL & NOTHING WORKED”

The inside & outside of the hotel are in desperate need of updating. The fridge door would not close, the water in the shower would not get warm. We had to take a 2 minute miserably cold shower. Were told there was a hot tub but that also did not work & was closed off. Poor management. They offered only a 10 percent discount when absolutely nothing worked in that awful hotel. Will absolutely never consider going back and have informed many others of this terrible experience.
