    Pocket Guide: British Columbia

British Columbia has become a mecca in recent years for both nature lovers and those who enjoy spending time in a sophisticated urban environment that features vibrant nightlife and numerous opportunities for cultural experiences. British Columbia's main city, Vancouver, has become one of the top spots for travelers in recent years. Situated by the sea, Vancouver enjoys a mild climate, clean air and close proximity to some of the world's best seafood. Hotels in British Columbia are frequently full of those who make reservations during salmon and halibut season specifically to enjoy expertly prepared local cuisine. Another special attribute of Vancouver is that it's a prime whale-watching location and excellent destination for those who enjoy deep sea fishing.

Although British Columbia hotels are mainly used by vacationers during the summer months, winter sports enthusiasts frequently take advantage of cheap hotel deals in British Columbia for snowboarding and skiing. Elk and moose hunters also visit British Columbia wilderness areas for the purpose of hunting during the fall. In the late spring, when the blossoms and vegetation at Victoria's Butchart Gardens are in their finest forms, rooms in British Columbia hotels in close proximity to the gardens are impossible to book. If you are interested in seeing the Butchart Gardens when they are at their absolute best, you should remember to make reservations well in advance of your planned stay.

If you are looking for British Columbia hotel packages that are in more remote parts of the province, you should explore the possibility of taking a vacation in the northern coastal community of Prince Rupert. It's quieter than the urban environments of Vancouver and Victoria, and you will be more likely to find better prices on British Columbia hotel deals in Prince Rupert. It is also an excellent choice for those who love to fish for salmon. Discount rates are generally available in Prince Rupert lodging establishments during the winter months. If you are feeling especially adventurous, you can take a nine-hour ferry ride from Prince Rupert to the small city of Ketchikan in the southeastern part of the state of Alaska.

British Columbia is a huge province with many things to see and do. To make certain that you get the right cheap British Columbia hotel deal for your needs as well as for those of your traveling companions, you should check with Expedia before you book a stay at any particular place.

"Great hotel about 5 steps from down town!"
We spent 2 nights in this hotel. It's maybe a bit older but the room was great and clean. Breakfast can be eaten in the restaurant and the buffet is very nice with a good choice of foods.

"The Magnolia Exceeds Expectations in Every Way"
The Magnolia is conveniently located in center city Victoria within walking distance of many restaurants and tourist attractions. The staff is the core of the Magnolia experience and strives to accommodate guests to the fullest extent. Our initial greeting - arriving late after the restaurant closed - was extraordinary. Without request or expectation, cups of tea and food were brought to our room at no charge. The remainder of our stay was equally impressive. The room was quite large and comfortable, even containing a gas fireplace to enhance its ambiance.

"Perfect hotel, would definitely book again!"
Although Whistler is known for being the number one destination for skiiing, Whistler is amazing in the summertime with plenty to do. I booked the hotel for it's location and because it was bike friendly. I wanted to book a surprise holiday for my mountain bike fanatic fiancé and wasn't sure if he wanted to bring his own bike. I researched quite a few hotels in the area before and the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Center matched with every criteria that I was looking for. I booked the Standard Room, 1 Bedroom (Lower Floor) and my expectations were exceeded. The room has EVERYTHING! If you wanted to save some money you could buy from the local grocery store and cook your own food in the room. There's a microwave oven, hob cooker and even utensils/cutlery I didn't even expect including a potato masher, steak knives and even a cheese grater. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, I think they use a memory foam mattress. There is a sauna, mini gym, swimming pool and two hot tubs for guests to use as they please. Whilst my fiancé went cycling I had a spa treatment at the hotel too, it was so relaxing. The cost of the hotel also included breakfast buffet which was an even bigger bonus. Although only hot food is served in winter time I still enjoyed what was offered as the breakfast buffet had such a large selection. The location of the hotel is in a perfect location right in the village and all within walking distance to all the local attractions.
