    Pocket Guide: Djibouti

A trip to eastern Africa would not be complete without spending ample time staying in the best rooms in Djibouti hotels and getting to know this small country in detail. Djibouti has long been an important destination for trade. With its location on the Horn of Africa and a coast that spans across the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, it has been a crossroads for trade and travelers alike from across the region for centuries. While it is small in size, it is home to over 800,000 people and has a robust, vibrant culture. The vast majority of its residents live in Djibouti City, the capital city. This means that there are wide open expanses of natural areas as well as cultural urban areas that you can explore on your trip to the area.

The only thing i was surprised by was the extra tax charges (city tax) that we were requested to pay at the hotel knowing that expedia rate was inclusive of tax.

Hotel is not worth the price and should be a 2 star or motel. Nothing compared to other Sheratons in the world. Furniture is old, bathroom has rust throughout. Customer service is great but hotel needs remodeling for all rooms. The price for basic and higher class are the exact same. Free Internet is a plus. In Djibouti this is one of the safer hotels but one of the poorest up keep of rooms. If you are a casino player and don't planned on being in the room except to sleep it is perfect even with the high price. Food is ok as well.
