It's easy to find a Florida hotel geared towards family vacations as there is an abundance of family-themed attractions near the center of the state. There are as many beaches as there are theme parks, so the travel scene is overflowing with beachfront resorts providing immediate or short-distance access to the water. Luckily, the weather permits such travel throughout the year.

    Best Times to Visit

Florida is a great year-round vacation destination, but some areas are easier to enjoy during certain seasons. Most of the biggest attractions are open at nearly all times of the year, and this offers respite for those looking to escape the frigid temperatures of the northern winter. In many locations around the state, you can find locals and travelers flocking to the beach even during the holiday season.

It may be cooler in North Florida during the winter, but popular South Florida is always warm and sunny. Theme parks and hotels feature water activities including slides, pools, and rides that can still be enjoyed. Near the ocean, visitors can take part in sports such as snorkeling, diving, and surfing.

Visiting Florida during colder months presents its own benefits as well. Many hotels in Florida are less likely to be crowded due to the cooler weather or lack of family vacationers during the school year. Prices may be lower due to this decreased demand as well.

    Popular Attractions and Features

Florida offers many attractions including thrill ride theme parks, theme parks focused on nature and wildlife, gardens, and attractions offering experiences with local sea life. There are parks and attractions for all kinds of tastes, such as Disney World®, Sea World®, and Universal Orlando®. Everglades National Park offers visitors the opportunity to experience one of the most treasured ecosystems in Florida.

The Florida Keys offer an even more peaceful and secluded getaway, and you may even get to try authentic Key Lime pie if you stay long enough. Also in south Florida is a significant Hispanic population. In Miami and the surrounding areas, you can sample Latin cuisine from a variety of national influences or take part in periodic cultural festivals.

Amenities Available at Florida Hotels and Resorts

Amenities include spas, fitness centers, cafés, and bars to make your stay more comfortable. Hotels offer free Wi-Fi and laundry services as well as family-friendly amenities like on-site playgrounds and pools. These hotels are in close proximity to other activities such as golf and nightlife to enhance your local experience even more.

Many hotels take business travelers into consideration and offer conference rooms and meeting spaces. Hotels in Miami are some of the most luxurious in the state. Many are located right on the beach or near historic Miami attractions.

    Benefits of Florida Geography

The state offers miles of ocean access on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. If you love vacations on the water, you'll have many opportunities on either coast or even on the edge of Lake Okeechobee. Cities such as Fort Lauderdale and Daytona are celebrated for their beaches, and they are often bustling with visitors throughout the year.

Orlando is located near the center of Florida, making it an easy place to reach should you choose to start your stay in one region and move through the state. Miami is known for its shallow beaches and bold blue waters that provide a taste of the tropics with big-city appeal. If you'd like to experience the greatest features around the state, use Expedia.com to book cheap flights to Florida, find affordable accommodations, and more.

"Lake Buena Vista - July 2015"
My family of 4 recently stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort for a 4 night trip to Disney World. We had also stayed at this resort two years ago for a trip to Universal. Overall, this resort is very nice for a family looking for larger accommodations than your standard hotel room. Each of my kids had their own bedroom which helped to make for a more peaceful experience. As for the unit, it was very large with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the bathroom in the master suite was very spacious with a large shower and separate soaking tub. The kitchen area was also large and updated. Another highlight of the stay was the pool as our kids enjoyed it each night. My only complaint is that we had to ask for hand towels/wash cloths as our unit was not stocked with any and then the TV in the master suite was small and an old CRT model. Also, some of the furniture is getting a bit outdated, but for the price of the unit it was still very good and I would stay again.

"Greta hotel but a couple of things need addressing"
We have recently arrived back after spending 14 nights at the Florida Hotel and Conference Centre (22 June – 6 July). After a good flight with Virgin Atlantic we arrived relaxed and ready to enjoy our stay. We had stayed there before so we knew what to expect, lovely rooms, great hospitality and friendliness from all the staff. We had asked for three quiet rooms away from the lifts. The rooms we were given were quiet but need to be upgraded, they are tired looking and need brightening up. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was clean except for the carpet. It had fine grit all over it and clearly had not been hoovered for a while. I came out of the bathroom barefooted on the first night only to step on a toe nail stuck up in the carpet. Disgusting. I hasten to add it was not ours. We did ask for another room and was told we could move the following day to the top floor but when we went to get those keys the rooms were not in use. Strange! We were offered other rooms for the following day but we decided to stay put as that would have put us in to our third day of our holiday and had still not unpacked whilst waiting for things to be sorted. One word of warning, when booking this hotel with Expedia. The hotel charges a fee of $18 a day per room. We fell in to the trap of believing this was covered by the taxes we paid to Expedia. It is not. You will have to pay this fee separately at the hotel. The breakfast in Marcello’s is brilliant and thanks you to all our

"THE place to stay in FLL"
Where do I begin? The valet folks are the friendliest people I have come across in a while. So I thought, the front desk staff was courteous and professional as well. As a guest you are encouraged to check the daily calendar to see what's on tap for the day. The seafood stew poolside was excellent. That happens each week. The view from my room was amazing. Did not seem real. The hotel is away from the more crowded areas so its a perfect spot to hit the beach and relax. I will be going back and made sure to tell the folks at the hotel.
