    Pocket Guide: Illinois

Illinois is known as a microcosm of the United States. From the metropolis of Chicago, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the state's northeast corner, to the plains of the west and the rolling hills and Mississippi River to the south, Illinois is a state for everyone. Hotels in Illinois offer Midwestern hospitality with a modern touch.

The state of Illinois proclaims to be the "Land of Lincoln," and three Illinois state residents, including Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant, and Barack Obama have been elected to the top position in the U.S. Government. In addition, Ronald Reagan was born and raised in the state.

The room was very clean and very roomy. Nice amenities. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Walk to Navy Pier or walk to Michigan Avenue for some shopping.

    "Excellent location"
Our room was a fantastic value for the location. We arrived at 9:30 am on a Saturday. I hoped to drop our bags off so we could sight see and come back to check in at the posted 3 pm. They had a room ready and sent us right up! Our room looked directly onto the Chicago River and Lake Michigan; it was beautiful! Our tv did not work and an engineer came to fix it moments after alerting the desk of the problem. We enjoyed drinks a couple of times in the hotel's Big Bar. One waitress, Tosh, could not have been nicer and offered many suggestions when we asked about good pizza places. Our room was always clean and tidy; we could not have asked for nicer accommodations. The location was central to so many activities for us first timers to the city. We could walk a mile north or south and be within range of all the major sites we wanted to see. Access to the 'L' made it easy for us to go to and from the airport without needing a taxi. This was a perfect pick for our needs and I recommend it to others.
