Ireland Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

When people speak of Ireland, it often conjures up images of rolling green hills, ancient castles, rowdy but friendly pubs, and leprechauns protecting their pots of gold. While the question of whether leprechauns actually exist remains, the beauty of the Emerald Isle is no fairy tale. Many who visit this beautiful land become enamored by it.

The culture of the people of Ireland has been developing for thousands of years with records going back as far as 6,000 years. Tradition is important to the Irish, including traditional Irish music and dancing. At the heart of every town is the pub. For the Irish, pubs are not just a place to grab a pint, but they are also a place to share and experience the heart of social, cultural, and musical life with others.

The Irish have a reputation for loving to party and to hold celebrations, and this is a stereotype that the Irish embrace. The Kinsale Gourmet Festival and the Dublin Theatre Festival are great events held each year, but the Irish love any good excuse for a party.

    When to Go

When traveling to Ireland, expect rain in the spring and fall. Days during the summer are more often than not comfortably warm without being hot. It is for this reason that summer is peak tourist season on the Emerald Isles and is the most difficult time to get into the hotels in Ireland, so book in advance.

While the weather is at its harshest during the winter, the season is often the time to book a cheap Ireland hotel deal through Expedia and get rooms at special discount rates. During these months, particularly in Dublin, you can find the top prices for cheap hotel deals in Ireland.

Two major events draw a lot of people to Ireland: The St. Patrick's Day Festival takes place on March 17 in Dublin, and a smaller one takes place in Cork, though the entire island celebrates. In October, Cork holds the Cork Folk Festival, and in mid-September, you can experience the Dublin Fringe Festival. When looking for the best Ireland hotel deals and Ireland hotel packages, make reservations early, particularly if you are planning to visit Dublin.

You will find Ireland hotels to be warm, friendly places, and you will love staying in them. You may never want to leave.

"Little gem in the heart of Galway"
From the minute we arrived at reception to checking out 2 days later i must say we both could not fault . The friendly way the reception staff greeted us was great, we got to our room no 200 on the 2nd floor and my god we thought it was lovely especially the effect of having a mirror to mirror effect was fab facing each other.only down side of the rooms they were a little too warm although the radiator didn't seem to be on and we both don't like a very warm bedroom. The bar staff and restaurant staff were excellent, very chatty but knew when to chat. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff even wished us a happy anniversary nice touch. The night porters were very friendly came and chatted to us while we listened to the nightly music in the bar. i will definitely go to Flannery's again and will recommend it to every i know.Bus stop into Eyer's square just across the road if you didn't want to walk the mile or so into town.

    "ZZTop concert"
Stayed for one night to see concert. The room was clean and comfortable. the bed was a little hard for my taste, but, slept well. The bathroom was clean with no complaints. The room had air conditioning, but, seemed not to cool real well. Turned to full cold and the room was just comfortable. The breakfast was good with alot of choices. The bar was great with a duo playing tunes after the concert and they were pretty good.

"Good location for a short stay"
I stayed two nights on a touring holiday in southern Ireland. It is on the edge of the city centre, but very convenient for the main bus station (a minute's walk) and train station (5 minutes walk). My room was on the third floor at the back and very quiet in terms of street noise. I stayed over a Saturday night and there was some boisterous late night noise in the corridors from returning revellers, but in my expereience that is only to be expected in this kind of large but budget city hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. My room was large but basic (e.g no proper wardrobe, just a rail and open shelving). Everything worked and the room was perfectly adequate. Slightly irritatingly, no bars of soap were provided, which made the bath difficult to use, as the liquid soap dispenser was fixed to the wall at a height appropriate for those using the bath as a shower. This was awkward as I prefer bathing to showering.
