Do not stay here. They charged us normal rates and we showed up and they were doing construction loudly the entire time. Worst hotel experience ever. Stay somewhere else no matter what your plans are. 0 Stars.

We called ahead to make sure they had a pool and staff never told us that the pool was under renovations! In fact they forgot to mention that the hotel was goin through renovations! Wish they would have been upfront about this or posted it on website. They gave us a pass to use the YMCA pool which needless to say was not a great alternative!! Just be upfront if you are renovating i am sure it will be beautiful when it is complete.

We enjoyed our stay and our room was beautiful - completely updated and essentially brand new. The only down side was the entire hotel was under construction! We selected this hotel specifically because there was a pool. We were all looking forward to using the pool! We were told upon check in the pool was closed. We were all pretty disappointed and had we known we would have stayed at a different hotel closer to our event. The room was great and I think the hotel in general will be awesome once construction is finished. I just wish we would have known the pool was closed prior to check in.

The Courtyard was undergoing renovations the day we stayed on 2/24/24, which was clearly mentioned in all of the travel and reservations sites. However, it was really not an inconvenience at all. The pool and workout area were closed as noted, but no big deal at all. Our room was newly remodeled and everything was spotless, quiet, and comfortable. Great downtown Detroit location that is walkable to everything. 5-Stars *****

We had no idea when we booked that everything was under renovation. There was no pool, no workout facility, no lobby, and no amenities. For the grotesque amount they charged you would have thought that they would have provided some type of credit back or discount for the inconveniences.

No in room control of temperature. When we got into our room it was 74- we turned it down to 69- two hours later no change at all. We called the front desk to inquire. The man at the front desk stated “when the heats on in the building you can’t control the temperature on the room- open a window or we can find you a fan”😳 We had friends have the same experience. 300 a night for a hot and muggy room.

Stayed here for the Lions game and the staff was great and very friendly during an especially busy weekend. Hotel was under construction in certain areas but didn’t bother us. Rooms were fine and the beds were very comfortable.

We always enjoy staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Downtown Detroit when we visit. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the hotel is super clean, and we've always had a great experience. We've literally stayed here dozens of times over the years and we've never had a bad experience!

Great experience.
We were treated like Royalty!!! We were the first to stay in a renovated room. The staff are amazing especially Lucas, Richard and Noah. We cut a red ribbon to enter our room and felt like Queens. So nice to go to Detroit and feel safe and well taken care of. Also the restaurant staff are excellent.

Staff was super friendly and welcoming. The check-in staff asked us which floor our friends were on and placed us on the same floor. The room was recently remodeled and felt fresh and clean. Hotel was right downtown so we could enjoy the Christmas activities nearby. Enjoyable stay.

I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The staff was phenomenal, so friendly and beyond accommodating. The hotel is under renovations, but you'd never know it based on how clean and quiet the hotel is. The only reason for my low marks, is because our room on the 20th floor had an issue where there was a strong whistling noise from the vents and around the door to the room, that kept me from sleeping all night long.It was so noticeable, you could clearly hear it in the hallway when leaving. It is a beautiful hotel, but I want to be able to sleep soundly when paying $$$ for a room.

We paid over 500.00 for this room along with vallet parking. And you could never find anyone to get your car. And we had to go through 4 sets of room keys everytime we left our room to come back. Then they didn't work again and had to go back down stairs for the staff to open the door.

The staff at this hotel were all so friendly, welcoming, and helpful! We also liked that the hotel is within walking distance to Greektown and the sports’ stadiums. It’s also close to the People Mover if you prefer not to walk. The hotel was clean and we liked the pool. The only thing that we would change is the parking. It’s a good block walk with luggage, unless you want to use valet.

Decent hotel, misleading service.
Hotel is great, awesome location and above average cleanliness. Disappointed while checking in hotel clerk said I can apply Marriott rewards points towards two of the four nights. Upon checking out I was billed for all four nights and that hotel rewards employee said they didn’t apply the points and were not willing to do so. I explained they did it upon check in and she said sorry they were not honoring points. Not sure why Marriott has points if you can’t use them? I have over 50k useless points. Hilton is much easier to redeem points, Marriott needs to benchmark Hilton for service ideas.

While the staff was friendly, the entire atmosphere was problematic. There was a security guard station and unfortunately it was needed and unfortunate that the security guards didn’t seem to be doing their jobs. The lobby was chaotic - it is really tough with Applebees being connected to the hotel lobby

This hotel did not “meet the mark”. Vallet was attentive and helpful. The lobby was a little run down with tiles off the ceiling. We were greeted and ALL the employees were very friendly and helpful. We got to our room - elevators were fast, but not really dirty, but old. The 10th floor hallway smelled like food, while our room smelt like musty armpits. Linens were white, and clean. Shower had a good pressure and lots of steaming hot water. There is no vent in the bathroom for steam and odors. Shampoo conditioner bar soap and body wash was helpful. The television was a good size for the room. The couch in our room was very uncomfortable to sit on. The dresser drawer would not shut - no matter how many times I closed it. Mini fridge was clean and cold and the safe was a nice feature. We did not use the pool but did use the hot tub. The water for both was clear but mildew on the tiles around the pool, edge of pool needs painted and there was a ring of filth around the hot tub. The pool area was cleaned of towels when we were there. To get to the pool you have to go thru the gym. This corridor was very cold. There are great views everywhere you go. Overall we had a good time and I look forward to sleeping on the soft comfortable bed tonight.

Alexia was absolutely amazing. I had called Marriott a few times with questions s because the Expedia site was so terrible and she answered all of my questions and gave me recommendations that made our stay a wonderful experience. She went out of her way with kindness for my children when I checked in. I would totally recommend the property but to book directly not through Expedia.
