To noisy for me

Posted Apr 21, 2015
on arrival I had advised the valet staff they I would probably need my car again in the evening. I wades little taken back when they asked me what percent chance I would need it. I was sure I misunderstood and simply stated that I was not familiar with the area, so I may want my car. The gentlemen then asked "if it was a 10% or 80% chdnce"? I wrapped this conversation up by simply stating, I will need the car. I shrugged this off and continued to check in. The staff was pleasant, although not very informative about the area. The room was nice and very clean. Our evening went well (we did not request our car as we chose to walk). Then came bed time, this was the downfall of our stay. There was some type of people mover train that was just outside our window, that ran until 2am! If that was not bad enough, there was some type of utility room next to our room, I found this odd being the entire 5th floor is hotel facility. I am not sure what was going on in that room, however there was some type of banging and rustling noise coming from there all night. There were also many drunk guests up and down the hall using the elevator and vending machine (both right outside our door) until well past 3am. I understand that noisy guests is not the fault of the horological, however coupled with all the other noise, I was completely frustrated! I can't help but believe that we were given the noisy room because we booked through Expedia.

Great Location...

Pros: It's very well kept and has an awesome view of downtown Detroit from their hotel rooms.
Cons: Bathrooms with tubs..
Location: Outside dinning near the hotel and within walking distance to the Joe Louis Arena.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel was very clean and their staff was quite friendly. Not to mention, the view of downtown Detroit from our hotel room was simply amazing and its location was within walking distance to the Joe Louis Arena. In fact, you can cut through Cobo Hall (a heated facility located directly across the street from the Crowne Plaza) to reach the Arena during Detroit's winter months. Although the Crowne Plaza's bathrooms only have standup showers, we enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was in walking distance to the Joe Louis Arena and Comerica Park. I will definitely return here as it was one of the best hotels I stayed.

Nice hotel close to the Joe Louis arena

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, great breakfast, location.
Cons: Room was not very spacious, and our room had some things missing (lamp shade and bulb).
Location: Downtown, river front. Excellent location if you are planning to visit the Joe Louis arena for a game of hockey or for business in the downtown area.
Walking distance to downtown businesses, and Joe Louis arena.

Attended a hockey game. We are from Canada. Hotel parking too expensive. However, parking attendants very helpful.

Looking for quiet in all the wrong places.

The first room I had was next to the ice machine, which was too loud and was moved to another room. This room was in between to rooms that were partying all night with loud music and loud voices in the hallway. I was there for a nice weekend with my fiance and came from out of town, but with all the noise, we checked out in the middle of the night and went to stay somewhere else. I told him we would never stay there again as well as the front desk.

Great location but lacks comfort and organization!

Pros: location
Cons: they need to warn clients to call for their valet service. they need to make sure each room has a hair dryer. they need to repair their furnace system
Location: everything downtown
My bed room was incredibly noisy. The furnace clanked all night and the sound of the elevator going up and down the shaft was really loud. I could not sleep even when I turned on ambient noise. Finally, in desperation, I closed the door to bedroom and fell asleep on a mini couch in the front room of the suite. When I unfolded my body the next morning I took a shower only to find that the hair dryer was missing. It took awhile to get my hair dryer and so I was racing to get to the airport on time. I texted the valet according to my receipt instructions. When I ran down to hop in my car, they informed me that the texting was no longer available. Now I was really late. I complained to the front desk and they comped my parking $25 and offered a complimentary breakfast. All of which I would have happily paid for in exchange for a good night's sleep. At least the front desk contact was nice. Luckily I made my flight - I raced to my gate just as the plane was loading.
