Aging, decrepit hotel

Posted Jun 25, 2015
This hotel is in need of renovation very badly. Everything in my room had white paint splatter all over it...the alarm clock, the bathroom fixtures, the furniture, from where they've simply tried to paint the walls, I suppose without using a drop cloth. Hair, safety pins and other items in the carpet. The thermostat was broken, so the AC had to be manually turned on and turned off every single time it was too hot or too cold, this was a real pain. Would never stay here again.

The room was dark and dank. The thermostat did not seem to work at all. Overall, Crowne Plaza is supposed to be a high end brand and yet the room felt like a low end chain. I will never stay there again.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent stay. I'm extremely sorry that the thermostat in your room didn't seem to work. We want our guests to be comfortable while they are here, and we would have been more than happy to either move you to a different room or have one of our maintenance staff fix the issue. This was a very nice hotel. Very well apportioned and stylish. The room was fairly large, nice accomodations and quiet.

Comic-con visit

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The lobby is beautiful, the koi pond around the indoor pool was amazing. The beds are super comfortable, and it was a super clean hotel.
Cons: A free continental breakfast would be GREAT.
Location: We stayed for Motorcity Comic-con at the Suburan Showcase Collection, and also went to The Cheesecake Factory! But I'm sure there is much more to do.
We had a wonderful experience with the Crowne Plaza Novi. It started off by us calling to see if it was possible for us to check in early, and they were able to accommodate us with out a problem, so we were able to check in before Comic-con even started. They had a shuttle going to and from the con, which made it way easier than having to drive there and back yourself. The staff was great with recommendations for places to get pizza from, and they were always friendly with us whenever we asked a question. We only had one problem, and it was very minor, we wanted to go swimming our first night, and read in the book in our room that the pool was open until 11. It turns out it closed at 10, which is when we arrived at the pool. That was the ONLY problem we had, and very minor.

Pick another hotel

Posted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
I booked through hotels.com and reserved a room with 2 beds for my daughter's dance competition. When we got to our room, it was a king bed. I immediately went to the phone to call the front desk to ask for 2 beds. The phone did not work - was no dial tone. I tried the other phone - the same thing, no dial tone. I noticed the carpet was very old and outdated and the room was very dusty. I called the front desk from my cell phone and they said they would bring me keys to a new room with 2 beds. The manager showed up and said that they didn't have any rooms with 2 beds left and that if I read the fine print on my confirmation it says that the 2 beds was a preference. I will never reserve a room here again.

Dear Jamie, Thank you for sharing your experience on your recent visit. I'm sorry that there was an issue with the room type that was reserved, and the room type you were assigned. We try our best to accommodate all requests when it comes to bed preference, and I'm sorry that we were unable to meet your request for two beds. We do have roll away beds available to accommodate the need for extra beds. I hope you allow us another chance in the future because we care about our guests and want all our guests to have an outstanding experience with us.

Comfortable hotel close to Downtown Chicago

Posted Mar 20, 2015 on Hotels
Staff members went out of their way to accommodate. Comfy room, excellent bed, timely room service. Small but serviceable fitness room could be larger and could have some more equipment. Pool and hot tub are clean. The pool is roped off halfway, so no lap swimming ... On-site restaurant was very convenient, and there are dozens of dining options in walking distance. Good, popular "Happy Hour." By car the hotel is less than 30 minutes from downtown and the trip via public transportation isn't bad.

Family Weekend Getaway

Posted Mar 20, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed for 2 nights, Fri-Sat. My kids are 6 & 7 yrs of age. When we pulled up to the property, we noticed that the location was perfect for getting to pretty much anything you could need in the Novi area. The room was a bit smaller than many hotels we have stayed at. The bathroom was very small, but looked nice and was clean. The pool was literally out our front door so it was nice to just leave our room door propped open while the kids ran back and forth. Both the pool and hot tub were at comfortable temperatures and working properly. Nothing like getting to a hotel and then finding out the pool area isnt functional!! All in all this hotel was definitely worth the wopping $201.00 for both nights and served us well for what we wanted. Will stay again for sure! Pros: good customer service, location, pool, hot tub, late check out Cons: No free breakfast.

Dated hotel, good service, great restaurant

Posted Mar 20, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is pretty dated and needs update. It's located along the expressway - but near shopping mall if that's your thing. One of the best things about the hotel is the restaurant inside - very knowledgeable staff and very dark, cool decor - food is amazing; and pretty good wine list.
