This hotel is in dire need of a renovation
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Just about everything could be improved in this hotel.
The front desk staff were exceptional, too bad they are stuck in this dump of a hotel. The carpets were stained dirty over the years of wear and tare, and there were MANY tares. There were no thermostats in the room, it was just a switch to blow really cold or really hot...continuously. Continental breakfast was messy, had incredibly limited selection, and just plain dirty - no one was tending to the area. Bathroom was tiny, no tub, no soap dish at the sink, the kleenex box was empty when I checked in and after the first cleaning a new box was left on my counter so I suppose I could replace. In addition, cleaning service left my gathered garbage in an open plastic bag for me on the desk.

you get what you pay for

Basically it comes down to you get what you pay for. We needed a cheaper hotel room to stay the night in for we were planning a long night of partying in Royal Oak. The location is near the downtown area (3+ miles away) and our cab fare ranged from $16-18 from the hotel to downtown and back again. The hotel is a typical $60 hotel..little to say, with little to offer. The continental breakfast has less than the usual continental breakfast but when you pay $60, you shouldn't expect more. The hotel is also non-smoking and when we returned home from our evening it smelled like a combination of cigarette and marijuana smoke.

HORRIBLE conditions

Pros: None
Cons: The dirtiness of this place.
Location: The locate was fine. About 2 mins from Oakland Mall, plenty of restaurants and gas stations around and very close to the highway.
This hotel was disappointing the minute my family & I walked into the room! Let me get the ONE nice attribute to this place.. The male staff member at check in was VERY nice and tried his hardest to accommodate the issues we had, I can't say one bad thing when it come to him and quality of his service. NOW BACK TO THIS HOTEL.. I had to change room 4 times just to find a DECENT room that didn't make my skin crawl. The 2nd room we were in had blood stains and long dark hair under the the sheets, we pulled back the fitted sheets and comforters to check the actual cleanliness of the beds (anything will look clean on the surface). It seemed as though whoever cleans the rooms must be suffering from balding because EVERY room we checked had the same long dark hair in it. Whether it be the bed, tub, or floor. The last room that we finally stayed in still had to be clean even though the cleaning staff had already did it. The tub had horrible stains, and the entire floor seemed of old harsh smoke smells. The ONLY reason we stay the 3days we were there is because all of the other hotels near by we're booked, we ended up having to go further out the city to find a hotel. This hotel still haunts me when I think about it... Make of fact , I want to go take another shower now! My recommendation... Stay at the Best Western in Livonia, MI . That's where we ended up going to after we left here and all I can say is I wish this place would've came up in our search originally. DON'T STAY HERE!

The stay was fine. It was a nice room but the bed were uncomfortable. Although I really cant complain because you get what you paid for and for what I paid it was a very nice stay.

Nice hotel with good price

Overall clean, cheap hotel even with a small indoor pool. You can only have a red roof room with this price. One of their front desk girl was not polite at all.

Light did not work on desk lamp, hotel could not fix or replace blub..Cleanliness overall including hallways not good. Bathtub dirty and sink was slow to drain. Nothing front desk could do since no one from maintenance on call to fix. Would not stay at this location again, other Days Inn have been very satisfactory but this location another story all together.
