When booking with Expedia, I requested a hotel with parking for the duration of our vacation. I was told this hotel would allow me to park without additional fees. This was not the case. We has to park at an airlines parking lot. I was disappointed.

Close to the airport

Right at the moment Marriott is renovating the hotel which is in disarray but functional. Several Restaurant's are close by. Roo.s are very clean even with all of the construction going on.

Pros: Everything!!
Cons: What ever you choose to do would be satisfactory to me.
Location: The location is perfect although my stay was limited, I will return to do more things nearby.
The staff was superb and the hotel absolutely convenient.

Found the room to be very clean, the carpets were outdated though. Otherwise quiet area despite the airport, and staff were excellent. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is one of the best airport hotels we've stayed in. Even though they are going through some renovations, I found the it nice to stay in. Bed very comfortable, we didn't want to leave it. I will most definitely stay there again.

Disappointed

Pros: Location- close to the airport.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Nothing close by.
Checking in was very pleasing. The employee was very friendly. However, there were spider webs in the corners of my room. The iron didn't work and when I called the front desk and asked for an iron, it took 20 minutes before the lady brought 2 more irons to the door and told me "one of them should work." The next day when I checked out at 4:00am, the employee was in the back sleep. I had to say, "excuse me twice" to get her attention to come to the front desk. When she did, she had an attitude and failed to give me a receipt.

Great Hotel but Currently Under Renovation

Pros: The hotel is convenient to the airport, the major freeways in Detroit and the staff is very friendly. Due to renovations we did get a great rate.
Cons: The hotel is under renovation so there is nothing that can be done at this time. I didn't find the renovations to be a big problem for me.
Location: Located within a mile of Metro Airport so it is convenient to the airport and major freeways. Shopping nearby. Downtown Detroit within 30 miles.
We stay at this Detroit Metro Airport Marriott frequently. We like the hotel and the staff is always attentive. The rooms are clean and the amentiies including the fitness center and pool area are always functional. The hotel however is currently under renovation. We noticed the lower rate for the hotel and suspected it was due to renovation but stayed anyway. We didn't hear a lot of noise. The concierge lounge has been moved to the lobby area instead of the fourth floor so it is smaller but that is not really a problem. The new finishes for the rooms and common areas are going to be very nice. I am looking forward to our next visit to see the transformation.

It's Ok

Pros: The staff were very nice. The way they treated me, made me think I was getting ready to experience a 5 star rated hotel.
Cons: The room was very small. For the money, I though I was getting a little more space. The breakfast has terrible go to the restaurant down the street.
Location: It was great being near the airport
This hotel is ok, if you are not looking for much and just want a place to sleep.

For us it was Okay, but anyone expecting more than standard comfort will be left wanting. The pillows weren't great and the pool was a little on the cool side. Breakfast wasn't included in our offer, but we didn't need it. The bar is neat, and it's a great location with lots of amenities within a 30 minute drive.
