All nearby attractins were easily accessible.

A lot of the attractions were easily accessible and we're nearby. The hotel provided a local free shuttle as well. That was very helpful.

pay more and stay elsewhere

Pros: The gentleman serving the main desk was polite and friendly.
I stayed for 1 night in order to attend a residency interview and I thought I was getting a decent place by spending $80/night instead of $130/night for other places like the Marriot, but I wish I had just paid that price. The hotel is dark and dingy and I didn't feel entirely safe staying there. My tv didn't work, the paint on the walls was chipping and my bedding had STAINS. I removed the blankets and slept on my sweaters and used my long coat as a blanket; THAT is how gross the room felt.

Absolutely horrible

Horrible staff. Nasty dirty rooms. Our Cadillac convertor was cut out of our car in the parking lot. The manager told us there was nothing he could do its just part of detroit. Sketchy people wandering the halls and lobby at all times of the night. Worst place to go to in Detroit. NEVER BOOK A ROOM HERE!

Friendly staff. Didn't get enough pillows for beds and no one brought us any. Older motel but not decent.

Would not recommend

I think this hotel is by far one of the noisiest hotels ever... Impossible to sleep. The walls are like paper. You can here people talking just as if they were in your bathroom. Then some people just park their car on the parking lot with extremely Los music... And the road makes a terrible noise. But he staff is very nice, welcoming and friendly.

Cons: The smell of pot in the room, and the showers go from boiling to freezing.
I enjoyed my trip to Detroit. My husband and I were with some friends and we went to wings game and the Lions game and it was great to have the free shuttle.

Detroit Regency Hotel

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The staff was superb and addressed my concerns.
Cons: The rooms and carpeting need to be updated. The lights need to be repaired. Matrix's need to be checked. I noticed the mattress in room #217 nasty.
Location: There were a few local restaurants nearby.
I cannot recommend this hotel to any business traveler. It does not have a swimming pool. The matrix and furniture was nasty. There was no fitness center. The continental breakfast was a joke. There was no butter, no juice, and no meat for breakfast. The bath tub had rust spots. I had to ask for additional towels. The room did not feel secure. I changed rooms three times and I was still not satisfied. I was concerned about the safety of my vehicle. The staff was very cordial and helpful.

Could not get an extra blanket, pillow or towel.

Posted Dec 2, 2014
We were told to get another room if we needed an extra blanket or pillow. Only had 2 towels for 4 people. Breakfast was terrible. I do not recommend this hotel.
