First Detroit experience

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Exceptionally clean, our suite was well laid out & very comfortable.
Cons: We did not have a microwave oven in the room - only negative I can think of.
Location: The hotel was within walking distance to several great bars which we visited before heading over to the Joe Louis Arena. Easy city to navigate!
We arrived at the hotel too early for check-in so had to wait in the lobby. Not bad, comfortable seats & atmosphere. When our room was ready, the clerk came over to us, handed us each a delicious chocolate chip cookie, our room key & gave us easy directions. The entire staff was very accommodating & friendly. No parking available, except for valet, but that was one less headache.

Great hotel in a perfect location downtown.

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Cons: Valet service needs to be a little more competitive and more options for non valet parking would be nice.
This hotel is situated right downtown with easy access to anywhere you need to go. Staff is accommodating and friendly. I wish they would have disclosed that valet was $55 a night which is expensive for Detroit and is definitely on the high end. Other than that, great hotel and the rooms are up to date and clean.

Cons: Couldn't ever get the themostat to work just right
Location: Walking distance to nice places to eat
It was fine...a little off the beaten path. Warm cookies upon arrival. Our room was a suite so a seperate sitting area which was nice when we had our son stop by and we didn't have to sit on the bed. You had to pay to listen to music and I forgot my Ipad

Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle service and drivers were fantastic
Cons: Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable, Pillows were large very stuffed down, not comfortable. Switched them to smaller foam ones. Slept great
Went to see Motown the Musical at the Fischer theater, stayed 2 nights, and very pleased with everything
