We were amazed at the restoration of this hotel.Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: Comfort, convenience and the food and restaurant options on site.
Location: We were going to the DSO- easy to get there- next day also an easy drive to the DIA.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Having watched this building decline in the years we lived in downtown Detroit, it was exciting to see what a renaissance it has had!

Nice hotel, downtownPosted May 17, 2015
Hotel was clean and spacious and a van was available at no charge to take us anywhere within a three mile radius We asked for a short sightseeing drive and to go several places. We were picked up and brought back with a phone call. The bed was comfortable and staff was courteous

My go to hotel in DetroitPosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: The shower in my room this last time was incredible. I was running late the morning of check-out because I really could've just stayed in teh shower.
Cons: Their TV's and cable need to be upgraded. I don't recall them being this slow and aggravating to navigate my previous two visits.
Location: Near the Detroit People Mover so anything downtown is convenient. Joe Louis Arena (why I visit), Comerica Park, Greektown, Riverfront, etc.
I've now stayed at this hotel 3 times and always have a nice, restful stay. Its convenient to the Detroit People Mover to get around downtown. The staff has always been friendly and the rooms are comfortable. You can't go wrong with a hotel who gives out free warm cookies. Just sayin.

Staying the night in The D.Posted Apr 5, 2015
Close to attractions. Right across the street from channel 4. We went to the MGM casino for the night and took a cab back to the doubletree. The room was half price compared to MGM. Our room was a suite, so we had a separate living room area. However, we are still waiting for the chocolate chip cookie. Not sure what that is about.

I enjoyed staying in the hotel. Awesome staff.Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable room
Cons: no self parking and valet parking rates are double than the self parking lot next door.
I had a great expirience. I did not need much except a clean and comfortable room and I got just that.

Pros: The shuttle service; the friendly staff.
Cons: Just be mindful of adequate linens and supplies when the suite is booked.
Location: Detroit Institute of Art; Riverwalk; Hitsville
Room was fine for sleeping. Three of us stayed in a corner suite. We had to keep asking for enough towels for everyone. The pull-out bed did not have linens, blanket or pillows. Had to call twice for supplies. Once we were settled in, however, the room was just fine. Round Bar good place to hang out and great food.

Right by the hockey rinkPosted Mar 19, 2015
What a nice hotel right by the rink! Starbucks for breakfast and round bar restaurant for lunch and dinner right downstairs. No pool for kids, but rooms are nice, quiet, and reasonably priced. The delicious cookies they give you at the front desk are a big plus!
