Coming Back... to visit the DIA Exhibit

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: Price. Staff. (Seriously -- I'd hire/adopt them.) Location. Functionality.
Cons: Room size -- that ain't gon'na happen -- so, nothing to suggest.
Location: Spoiler: We Don't Gamble! But we enjoyed walking about, cruising the nearby shops and sampling some of the restaurants. Try the People Mover.
We booked the hotel because of a special promotional price -- and because the location was "near enough" to the DIA. Free parking and free internet were added bonuses. Parking was easy once we realized we had to CLIMB with all the Tiger fans in competition for parking spaces. Hotel was easy to navigate. Staff was exceptional. We ate nearby: there are many many dining choices. With all the construction nearby, we took a cab back and forth to the museum to avoid the agony of navigating a new area and desperately seeking another parking spot. Area was totally safe. Everyone was just having a good time. Despite the size, the hotel was prompt to respond to every request. Room was god -- we enjoyed the view. Typical city hotel room: small and a bit cramped. We had a morning flight out -- got clear, easy directions to 94 -- arrived at airport in 20 minutes (leaving at 6:00 AM.) I'd recommend it.

Nice rooms, nice view.

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Front desk was very nice and friendly upon check-in. The room itself was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. We had a room with a nice wire overlooking the city. My only complain is that when I called the front desk on the phone from my room it took 15 minutes to get an answer. I just had a question, should not have taken so long to get my call answered.

Horrible Navigation in the area.

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The hotel accommodations were excellent and the rooms were very comfortable.
Cons: Detour information and larger detailed street map of the area.
We were in for our granddaughters wedding with relatives and friends from ;out of town. Since the reception was at Cliff Bells we stayed the weekend at he hotel. Not only was driving in the area hindered by construction and detours and closed street we encountered traffic from the Festival that was being held at the River front. Then on top of all that there was the shooting on Saturday night that made it almost impossible to get back to the hotel. Our son drive around for an hour and a half and finally gave up and drove back to Belleville. We know the shooting was something the hotel had no control over but it would have been nice to have been made aware of the street closings and detours.

Great location, not so great service/room

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The view from the upper floor of Downtown is very nice, and the location is great.
Cons: Security. Don't let packs of college kids roam the floors.
Location: Greektown is a mini-French Quarter. Plenty of good clubs and bars, from upscale to dive. Plus you can easily walk to the financial/business district.
The major problem with the hotel is that its a party hotel on the weekend, and they seem perfectly ok with that. One college kid will rent a room, and 8-10 of his/her buddies will sleep on the floor. If you're ok with paying over $250 a night to sleep in a college dorm mid-party, then this is the hotel for you. Also, wifi is intermittent at higher floors, airconditioning is noisy, and my door had to be shoulder slammed to shut. Its a shame, as its a hotel that obviously has pretentions to 'luxury'. Don't be fooled. Went to visit a colleague who stayed at the Atheneum Suites around the corner: same price, MUCH nicer hotel.
