“Comfortable and clean”
Check in and check out was fast. Self parking behind the hotel, park on first floor if available, an easy walk to the hotel rear entrance. Clean and comfortable standard room. House keeping was at the door mid morning with more coffee packs and ready to freshen the room. No complaints.
“Night at the fireworks”
Room was convenient to the fireworks display on the river and close to the casino--within walking distance. We would have liked a complimentary breakfast in the morning but that was not an option.
“Windsor”
Nice location. Easy in and out. Worth staying here over the crowded Ceasar's Hotel. Plus free internet. I've stayed at both hotels many times and prefer this one every time.
“Pictures Were Deceiving”
My husband and I were in Windsor for our anniversary. I looked up the hotel on the internet and thought the pictures of the rooms were fabulous. When we checked in, I didn't get the king size bed that I requested on our reservations. They gave us a queen with a full river view. The room looked NOTHING like the pictures. The wallpaper had water stains and was peeling from the walls! Where was the rooms I saw on the internet? The view was amazing, the room was not. We were on the top floor, so I guess maybe they are renovating from the bottom up and they just han't made it to the top floor yet?!?! We also had to pay $15 for parking. It was however about 3 blocks from the casino which was convienent and the steakhouse next door, The Keg, was really good. I would stay again, but they need to let people know that not all rooms look like the pictures.
“Perfect for overnight stays near Casino”
We needed a place to stay after a concert we went to at the casino. This hotel was perfect. It was within walking distance. The staff was friendly and the bed was very comfortable.
“Oasis in Downtown Windsor”
We selected this hotel due to it's downtown location, great views of Detroit skyline, pool, and brand name Hilton. We were not disappointed with the hotel. The kids loved the indoor pool (decent size, warm, and all one-depth). We were surprised to learn that we could not take our alcoholic drinks from the hotel lounge. Saturday night was a wedding reception and there were loud partygoers on our floor until around 11 p.m. Security seemed on top of it though. Hotel staff were polite and professional.
“Did not live up to the Hilton name”
Not my favourite experience at a Hilton hotel. The staff was pleasant but the overall experience which included no robes in our premium riverview room, no room service after 10:20pm on a Saturday among other issues, definitely disappointed us.
“More like a Best Western than a Hilton”
I would NOT recommend this hotel. I have stayed in Hilton hotels in several different cities, and this was by far the worst. The hotel was in need of updating, and the room was not clean. There were giant dust bunnies on top of the door frames. The room was quite cold when we checked in (the individual wall-unit heater/air conditioner was turned off in February), and the heating/AC unit was extremely loud and took quite a long time to regulate the room temperature. The walls were thin and we were kept awake by people talking and laughing in the hallways throughout the night. There was no valet in sight, nor was there a bellman to assist with bags upon check-in or check-out. I will not be staying at this hotel again.
“Central Windsor”
Love the location of this hotel. It's hard to get a room without a great view of Detriot across the river. This was the second time we stayed here. We will be back again for sure!
“Check Availability”
While the hotel was fine, I had booked a non-smoking deluxe (riverview) room with a king bed. What I got was a view of the Daimler Chrysler building next door with a small view of the river, had two double beds, but it was non-smoking. Was told the only deluxe with a King was smoking, which I felt should have been communicated when I booked the room.
