SmokyPosted Jan 11, 2014
Pros: The fact that the hotel had a bar (name started with a C). The bartender was very friendly and the experience was entertaining.
Cons: Temperature of the hot tub was almost unbearable. Way too hot! Listen to the guest when they express a concern and don't try to make excuses.
Shortly upon our arrival we smelled cigarette smoke in our room. It appeared to be coming through the vent in the bathroom but could be smelled while sitting on the bed. We notified the front desk clerk (Hannah) about this as we were leaving for dinner since we didn't want to be accused of smoking in the room (we are non-smokers). She said she checked the computers for guests in other rooms to determine the cause. She indicated there was someone who worked midnights in the room next to us but indicated that it couldn't be him because it was only 9:30 (my husband works midnights and leaves for work at 10:00). The smell in the room continued throughout the night. We mentioned it to another lady upon checkout who indicated that our room should have been moved when we first noticed it. I don't know where the smell was coming from but it definitely impacted our comfort in the room.

Comfortable room, overpriced breakfastPosted Nov 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room is nice and comfortable and includes large LCD tv with premium channels. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The only down side is overpriced buffet breakfast for $10. The hotel did include complimentary dinner free of charge every day at 5:30 pm.

Very good hotelPosted Nov 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was very good - what I've come to expect from Holiday Inn. The staff was friendly, courteous, and very responsive to our needs. We couldn't get the TV to work; we called down to the front desk, and within five minutes that had a maintenance person to our room to fix the TV. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaints are the free in-room WiFi, which didn't work most of the time and kept kicking us off. Also, the restaurant dinner food was not very good (the breakfast buffet was excellent). But dinner tasted as if it had been frozen and microwaved. But this was offset by the fact that up to four kids can eat free!

Worst hotel experience of a life timePosted Nov 11, 2013
Cons: Tear it down? Replace the hotel staff and find a new management to run it.
Walked into the hall of the hotel and the was a smell that was a best unpleasant. My last of three nights was a nightmare. There was some type of family reunion going on and it seemed several people stayed on my floor. People (adults) were walking up and down the hall talking loudly. Knocking on doors and then screaming in their rooms. I finally called the front desk and the clerk seemed unaware anything was wrong. He called back and informed me he had told the people involved that if they were not quiet he would have to call the police. It only got louder. I called again and he said there really wasn't anything he could do. He offered to move me to another room. This at 2:00 am when I was leaving for the airport at 4:00 am! I was told the hotel basically makes money on the weekends renting out their party rooms and as a result they have drunks in the rooms all night. I wouldn't wish this hotel on my worse enemy. STAY AWAY. Unless you like to drink and hang out with hookers its not a place for you.

Nice Hotel-Reasonably priced-Good ServicePosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Location (easy access to restaurants, shops, etc ... very close to the office I was visiting), helpful staff, room quality
Cons: A La Carte food quality in the restaurant.
Room was good ... Staff was courteous and helpful ... Services were worth the price ... A La Carte Food was not impressive (Breakfast buffet was okay)

Was very happy with the hotel as we had not stayed there before. Will be sure to stay again the next time we are in that area.

The customer service was very bad. The food was bad and while we ate we were being policed. Because of the customer service alone, i will never return.

Conveniently locatedPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything was exactly as expected for a hotel in the price range. I brought my grandkids with so we got a suite. It was plenty spacious, had a tv for the kids and one for me. Plus it had a refrigerator plenty large enough to hold juices, milk, and Bell's Oberon. Very pleased. I travel to Detroit 2 or 3 times a year to see family and I'll stay here again.

The room was very spacious, but the hair dryer didn't work, the iron didn't work and the room smelled really musty. I believe it was because the bathroom did not have a fan and their was no where for steam from the shower to go, or the room had flooded before our arrival.
