Love this hotel

It was a little less updated that the usual homewood suites but it was still better than average! Also the breakfast was delicious!

Suites are nice.

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Separate bedroom and living space. Good breakfast that they vary every day. Everyone was nice here.
Cons: Homewoods are generally a little small.
Location: Well located, about 20 to 30 mins driving from a lot of things. A MUST see is Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum about 15 minutes away.
We like to stay in hotels with separate bedroom and living area. Homewood Suites have always fit the bill. Rooms were generally clean and well maintained. They are a little small compared to some other suite hotels. Beds could be more comfortable, but are newer and firm. The staff was very friendly. Overall a good experience and good value.

Very pleasant and convenient stay.

Pros: Breakfast, spacious suite, easy in and out, landscaped grounds, other guests, great staff.
Cons: Doors between bedroom and bathroom often collided!
Location: Downtown Birmingham, MI is beautiful and terrific, a surburban jem! Convenient to Woodward Ave and I-75 & not far from I-696. Easy-Peasy
Very close to downtown Birmingham, MI. Interesting international mix of clientele. Pool great for grandchild. Proximity to small private plane airport surprisingly quiet and pleasant, and fun to watch. Not much air traffic.

Pros: Room size for the money. Comfortable.

Very helpful front desk throughout stay. Breakfast in the AM was better than most offerings at other hotels. Staff were very efficient keeping up with a extremely high demand for breakfast items.

I would live here if I could

I love this chain and this is the best one we've stayed at. The pool is large with ample pool towels at all times. The towels are full sized too, not those tiny ones that don't fit around your waist. The breakfast was outstanding with tons of options. The coffee is great. There is a popcorn machine in the lobby that my son loved. The room was exceptional. Comfortable furniture and bed. Lots of extra blankets in the closet. The refrigerator actually works. There is a Walmart right next door if you need provisions. We were there on Easter and the staff had hidden filled eggs around the hotel. They went above and beyond. This is the only place I will stay from now on when we visit Detroit. The only negative thing that happened was the maid tried to kick us out of the room early. We had a 5pm Red Wings game and checkout is at noon, so we were staying at the hotel as long as possible. She kept knocking at 10 am even though we had the do not disturb sign up. She pushed her way in when my husband answered the door and then demanded to know when we would leave so she could clean our room. She did not make us feel welcome. The lady who cleaned the third floor on Easter needs a lesson in manners. That was not enough to deter me from ever staying again but she was ridiculous. We ran into other cleaning staff who were friendly and fabulous. We never heard another guest when we were in the room.

Family vacation

Overall it was good experience and very good for price value but that baby in the next room was a disaster but since it was a baby can't be really mad at him. Only issue is that neither of the special requests were met and I know they are not guaranteed but usually done so whatever it's worth.

Great Experience!

Posted Feb 22, 2015
My 3 kids and I were in a studio suite with a king size bed & sofa bed. Ample room size for all of us! We didn't use the kitchenette, but it was nice to have. Even after the sofa bed was pulled out, still so much room for my youngest to play with his cars on the floor. The pool was very good size, bring goggles if you have an adversion to a lot of chlorine. They have full size pool towels which is nice & a shower to rinse off. Staff was very friendly and professional. Free breakfast was yummy, a nice mix of hot/cold foods & drinks. A great stay if you need the space!
