Very Nice for the Price

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Its classy decor, pleasant staff, reasonable rates
Cons: Better artwork on the walls...smiles.
Location: Didn't stay long enough to partake of anything
I had some concerns as to how nice this hotel could really be, as I looked at its rates in contrast with others; however, my concerns were dismissed as soon as I entered the lobby. This is an older hotel, that's why obviously it is priced lower, but actually that's its charm. The only thing that I didn't like about my short stay were the noisy guests on the floor, but that was not anything I complained about to the staff; I was able to sleep. And my breakfast was priced very reasonably, my waitress was most attentive and the food was delicious.....catfish (nice surprise on a breakfast menu), grits, eggs, toast. My purpose for being in Detroit was not fulfilling, but at least my stay at the St. Regis was!

Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable room.
Cons: I always appreciate complimentary bottled water and coffee in the lobby.
We were looking for a hotel closer to Ford Field, but there was no availability so we ended up here. Nice hotel, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Had to take cab to Ford Field area, about a 10 minute cab ride. Easy to get to despite the construction.

Hotel St. Regis both good and bad.

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Location, appearance. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Upgrades in the room - at least a refrigerator, flat screen tv and better coffee maker.
Location: Location is great - close to downtown.
Love the appearance of the hotel and location. Food at breakfast was great, service was bad and the bill was wrong. It was corrected and the hotel comped us the cost of one night valet parking so that helped. The rooms were ok, except I would like a refrigerator. The TV was ancient and the picture was bad - needs an upgrade to a flat screen. Worst of all was the noise coming from the hallway. People talking, baby crying. There needs to be some sound proofing.

Hotel St Regis

Posted May 29, 2015
Location: The area is called New Center. It was very close to the Fisher Building/Theater. Across the street was the Secretary of State's building.
I was in Detroit for a concert in the downtown area and found this hotel on Expedia. Upon checking in, I was upgraded from a queen room to a king room, which was nice. The hotel room overall was in good condition, and the bed was quite comfortable. One thing that is out of the hotel control but still should be brought up is the noise of the traffic driving up. Daily there were sirens and vehicle traffic that make it difficult to stay asleep the whole night. The Wi-Fi was subpar, so if your looking to get heavy use out of it don't expect much.

Pros: The location and style of the hotel.
Cons: Make sure the wifi works if you say you have a wifi. For some guests access to wifi is crucial.
Good location next to the Fisher building but the wifi did not work, nor did the printer in the business center so if you have business to take care of while at the hotel I would recommend another.

Very close to all the events we had to attend

Posted May 17, 2015
overall staff and room conditions were great. The first day it was only 62 degrees in our room, when questioned about it the heat had been turned off for the summer. Otherwise everything was very nice.
