“Best choice for Detroit in-town”
Room includes substantial free breakfast, and free shuttle service anytime to locations within 5 miles. This is a boutique hotel, consisting of 3 beautifully preserved and updated historic houses from the 19th century.
“Detroit's Gem Inn”
The Inn on Ferry Street was great. Located one block from the Detroit Art Institute. Friendly accommodating staff, lovely room, delicious breakfast and good value.
“beautiful and practical”
On a business trip I found this a great hotel for my needs. Beautiful, large room with lots of workspace and wireless internet throughout the hotel. Great, hearty breakfast in the dining room each morning with lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, all kinds of foods. Quiet, peaceful.
“Want to go back to Detroit just for the Inn on Ferry St!”
The Owen House is grand and elegant with extreme attention paid to the most subtle details. Jazz cds in the room add to the soulful feeling of the city and its history. The breakfast is generous and included a Belgian waffle maker. The immaculate bathroom with luxurious products make the Inn on Ferry Street the best accommodation in the city, as verified by a Detroiter. You feel at home without feeling like you are in someone else's home. I would go back to the city just to stay here!
“What a lovely surprise!! We couldn't believe the quality and the comfort-”
This hotel is worth 3 times what we paid for. Expedia had the best rate of all the search engines I tried. Thank you.
“Place with Character”
This hotel is a renovated group of four houses and two carriage houses built in the late 1800's by wealthy businessmen. They have been nicely restored including old photographs of those who lived there. they are right across from wayne state and just behind the art museum. rooms were lovely and comfortable -- complimentary continental [plus] breakfast was fresh. I was there very briefly but felt like I got a tiny view into a long lost part of Detroit's history as well as a quiet, comfortable stay. Note: Ask about elevators if you need one -- I was on third floor without but staff brought my luggage up and down. parking easy and shuttle transportation available to guests for nearby locations.
“A true gem in Detroit”
I'm a former suburban Detroit resident and chose to make a hotel/inn located in Detroit as my lodging destination. What a joy to see a part of Detroit's history maintained in all its glory. The various "homes" are beautifully appointed, the staff is very accomadating, the shuttle service extremely handy, and the daily delivery of cookies an anticipated event! All in all...a wonderful experience.
“Comfortable”
As a business traveler it was nice to stay in a place that had some ambiance and the comfort of home.
“Would defintely Stay there if we go back to Detroit”
This hotel was Wonderful !! I wish all hotels were like this one. We just really loved it! Not only was the staff courteous and helpful but these houses made you feel like you were at home! In the room itself they had info about each building, when it was built & for whom. My husband & I would recommend this place to anyone & everyone if they are going to Detroit !!!
“Would stay again!!”
My wife and I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and decided to return. It is a beautiful location with the Detroit Science Center and Institute of Art within short walking distance. The only negative aspect of our stay was that there was no refrigerator. We ordered room service and the portions were huge (and delicious!!) but we had no way to keep the leftovers. The breakfast spread was great and the staff went out of their way to be helpful.
