Food was really bad, ate at the deli they had there and it seemed worse than cafeteria food. On the bright side the hotel looks pretty nice and we got a deluxe room that had a jacuzzi tub which was awesome. I would probably try somewhere else if I were to stay down in detroit again but the hotel was alright.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were not the typical "casino" people, I guess. We were treated rudely and with suspicion by the front desk and security people.
First of all, two rooms had been booked and paid for through Expedia 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told the room was booked as a "pay upon arrival" reservation, and they would NOT accept the receipt from Expedia as proof that it was paid for. After talking to the employee at the reservation desk (who simply kept repeating that the room was NOT paid for) and the hotel manager, we finally had to call Expedia and they called the hotel. In the meantime we had to offer up another credit card or they wouldn't let us into the rooms. As it was, after giving them another card, they only let us check into one room until Expedia called them. After we finally got both rooms, I came down to meet the last two in our party (we had booked 3 in each room). As we were on our way up the security guard stopped us and asked who I was taking up to the room. I told him they were the last ones in our group, that we had 6 people altogether. He said "THAT'S IT...NO ONE ELSE GOES UP." Since when does a hotel tell you who can visit you in your room?!? Luckily no one was meeting us there before the concert or obviously there would have been a problem. The next morning we decided to pay the $50 fee to check out at 1:00 instead of noon. At 12:45 3 big security guys came and asked if we were staying another day. We told them that we were paying to stay until 1:00, and they stood there like they wanted to come into the room, like we were criminals. We will never go back.

Like Vegas in Detroit...

Great time during our stay here. Many food options and room was clean and roomy. There was a mystery room service charge at check out which wads quickly sorted out - just wonder if they put a charge on and hope nobody notices. Price was reasonable for hotel and food options.

I got a room to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday & the room's layout was amazing. The jacuzzi in the room made it even more romantic

Lots to love

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Loved the deep, comfortable soaking tub. Always appreciate the robes and good coffee in the room. Got upgraded rooms at check-in.
Cons: A few more staff at hotel registration is needed... Seems there was always a line of people checking in.
Location: We weren't interested in going out and about... That's why we chose to stay here.
A quick business trip to Detroit. We travel all the time and everyone was pleased with the accommodations.

Nice hotel, not far from downtown.

Pros: The fitness room was one of the best I have experienced in a hotel. Free weights and machines, towels and water. The staff were always friendly.
Cons: A shuttle service to local events would have been perfect.
Location: We went for a hockey game at the Joe Louis. I was about 5 mins by cab (or about $10). We went to the Hockeytown Cafe, had an amazing dinner and some
Exactly as advertised: a 4.5 star, clean with lots of on-site activities and options.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Hotel was nice but we expected a little more, especially for the price. We reserved King size room but of course none were available when we a arrived. We ended up with their double beds that looked and felt more like a twin. No refrigerator or microwave. Good options were limited. Had a decent time but there are far better options in the area.
