“Earns the title of "Royal"”
Very professional attention to detail. Staff appeared to be happy to assist. Clean, comfortable and staff available at all times.The bathrooms are luxurious and the walk-in shower is large with two forceful shower heads. I liked the coffee served in the dining room so much, I asked at the front desk where I could buy it. The front desk called food service and sent me to the dining room hostess and they sold me a large bag of fresh coffee beans, right on the spot. I felt welcome during my stay and will definitely return at the next opportunity.

Four story, beautiful hotel in peaceful setting. Enjoy lunch outside while viewing the river trail where you will find walkers and bikers alike.
“Nice, but disappointing”
This is a very nice hotel, but a bit disappointing given the hype surrounding it. Accommodations were posh and comfortable, but little things were the source of my disappointment: housekeeping was terrible - several times they threw away a few of my things that were nowhere near a waste basket; soaps were not replaced...not what I would expect from a "4-star" hotel, especially given the cost of the rooms. Restaurant is mediocre at best. There were wedding receptions 2 of the nights I stayed there, which given the small size of the hotel were a source of noise and parking chaos. If you don't feel like using the valet parking, be prepared to walk a long way. Location isn't very central. While it is definitely a nice hotel, there are much better values in the Detroit area. I wouldn't stay here again unless I was getting a pretty generous discount.
“Great Hotel!!”
Fellow guests, this is a well run hotel. The staff go out of their way to excel in service. We arrived 2am Friday and I left the fog lights on which drained my rental car battery. The following morning the staff jumped the car for me and delivered the keys to my hand while we were at lunch in the hotel restaurant. The entire staff, from check in desk to concierge to chamber maids were all polite attentive and professional. Coffee in the mornings served in the library was a nice feature, too. My only negative comment was that the food, while being OK was not to the same standard as the service in other departments. It was in many instances oversalted and a little pricey for what it was, which is ordinary fare.
“Luxury in Michigan”
This was our second stay at this hotel, and it was as pleasurable as our first stay. The service was good, the room was clean and luxurious. We had a nice few of trees with spring flowers from our window. I highly recommend the hotel.
