I arrived rather late, 8:30 pm, and was presented with a list of restaurants close by. When I got back to my room, I discovered the TV didn't work. I reported this to the front desk who said she would switch my room, but I had unpacked and really just wanted to go to bed. I asked she just put it on the list for the maintenance person for the next day. When I got back to my room the next day, the TV had been switched out and worked. The only complaint is the difficulty with entering/exiting the street in front of the hotel--extremely heavy traffic.

Overnight in SouthfieldPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: The room was clean. The towels were thick. I could see my vehicle from the room. There was no noise at night. A complementary breakfast was included!
Cons: Ability to purchase a bottle of wine.
Location: Ample parking. Close to the Interstate 696. Near numerous businesses, restaurants and services.
Was attending a wedding in Southfield, Michigan, and wanted a nearby place for an overnight stay. The Springhill Suites is conveniently located, reasonably priced, and provided a great experience. Check-in was quick, and the clerk was friendly, outgoing and helpful. There was a sitting room next to the bedroom, a flat screen TV, microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, sofa, desk, and all the typical room features.

Calm place, in a storm of activity.Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Very nice.
Cons: All hotels serving continental breakfast would do well to think about gluten free alternatives - other than just hardboiled eggs. This one included.
Location: We came to meet up with old friends from school. This was an easy place near the event.
Check in was quick and easy; we had a great room, a good breakfast, a cheerful staff, and a good rest spot in a busy area. The hotel surroundings, however, did NOT seem busy. An oasis, as it were.

Happy with this hotel:)Posted Sep 7, 2013
Location: Tim Hortons next door and lots of other places to eat nearby.
Overall, I was pretty happy with this hotel. I am relatively picky about hotels and I have seen too many dirty places in my travels. This one isn't perfect, but I think it was very good. Staff was helpful as well. Workout room could use a fan and some ventilation. Didn't check out the pool. Stayed a week and would go back again.

Room, EVERYTHING was AWESOME!Posted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Staff was excellent!!!
Cons: Black-out curtains in the rooms!!!
Location: Business district...not too far from the Detroit Zoo.
Absolutely will come back!!! Only complaint I have about the room was the lack of BLACK-OUT CURTAINS! It's a must!!! The other complaint I have has NOTHING to do with the hotel, but with the Oakland P.D. and the OVERZEALOUS, bored foot cop who writes tickets to cars in the hotel lot. If you have a handicapped placard...please make sure to hang it on your mirror, the dash will not do for this officer.

Springhill Suites was immaculate, spacious and offered a very substantial breakfast. We loved having the extra space in the room- having a "living room" is always a plus! As is true with any hotel, the first impression at the front desk is an important one, and let me tell you, this staff was wonderful. They were so helpful with directions, very understanding with our questions and extremely friendly. You get one chance to make a first impression and everyone we encountered nailed it! Thanks to all. Will definitely go back if we ever are in the area again. And the summer special made it a sweet deal!!!!!
