“Wonderful Accomodation”

Saw that someone else wrote that the hotel was terrible. We stayed last weekend for a wedding reception and the hotel was: - Clean - Rooms were well appointed. - Staff was polite. - Service was good. - The people who ran the banquet facilites were great. Whoever you were, sorry to hear you had a bad stay. Maybe you were there when the ownership changed and staff transition. Unless of course you are one of the ex staff members. But our stay was good and without complaint.

“Fantastic Hotel, A STEAL For The Price!”

The wife and I arrived at the hotel around 1:30pm (way too early for normal check in) but the gentlemen behind the counter gave us our room as soon as it was done being cleaned (within 10 minutes). You can definately tell that this hotel was at its prime 20 years ago. Its super huge, cool arcitechure and has a very fancy resteraunt connected to it. Although the hotel was really cool you could tell that it was a bit run down. Our room was fantastic. It had a big King size bed. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was large and the shower was fantastic! Our room even had its own balcony. The only complaint I would have is that the sliding door to the patio did not have one of those thick curtains that you can close to make the room dark in the middle of day. But other than that I absolutely loved this place. Fantastic hotel for the money! Plus it's located right next to Somerset mall and both highways.

“1st Met stay since it was Hilton”

The Charlies Crab restaurant was closed as well as the restaurant/bar in the hotel. This left no business meeting place on-site. Very few customers were present (probably less than 15). The room was perfect and the staff was friendly. Nice pool and work-out room, although nobody was there (which I like). I will go back, even though I've read that the lower level is used as a nursing home wing. I did not see any signs of this during my visit.

“Recommended ********”

Had the indoor pool and workout room to myself at 6 AM both Thursday and Friday mornings. Room was attractive, well maintained, quiet, adjustable temperature. Hair dryer located on the back of the bathroom door was not found until the 2nd day (since I don't usually close the bathroom door when I'm alone!). Small but efficient business center allows free high speed internet and laptop use. Minor complaint: Staff at front desk were nice, polite, but seemed overwhelmed at times. Check-in clerk told me she "fixed" the information in the hotel computer about my home address. (She incorrectly changed the information to an old address on my driver's license rather than leaving the current, accurate info in the hotel database). Overall: would definitely go there again.

“Great deal on a romantic getaway”

We booked a room for the weekend after Valentine's Day. It was a nice comfy room with a balcony. It's only a three story hotel but I think they all have balconies which is nice for smokers. I think they do most of their business during the week, catering to business travelers, but it was absolutely great for the two of us. We even took the kids swimming before taking them to the babysitter for the night. The pool was fun, but a touch on the cold side. Better for exercising than lounging/playing. We booked 1.5 to 2 weeks in advance and it seemed to cut the price in a third, compared to booking on short notice.

“A GREAT ADVENTURE!!!!!”

The Hotel was very nice!!! The staff was very pleasant, courteous, nice, and helpful. At one point, our son needed a couple of AA batteries and one staff member was kind enough to give us two of his own and said we didn't need to pay him back. The pool area was very nice, roomy, and had GREAT hours! It's a shame more people don't use this Hotel, it's a Keeper!!! Any time we need a Hotel in that area, we will DEFINITELY return. ;). P.S. There's this AMAZING area for rental space called "Charlie's" and we would LOVE to see it open and ALIVE!!!" If you get a chance, ask the staff to show it to you. If you live in the Troy, Michigan area, you're REALLY MISSING OUT if you don't book your next party/event at "Charlie's!" God Bless the MET Hotel's Future and it's Staff and their Families!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

“Nice hotel...”

Robert at the front desk is really special...personable and enthusiastic...a great rep for this hotel. I have stayed here before, when it was a Hilton...and the Met, without the affiliation still has the feel of a big chain: well-maintained, nicely appointed rooms, friendly service. It's a big place, and every inch of the place is well-cared for. If a hotel this nice HAS to be without a restaurant, so be it. I used the business center and the lobby coffee/microwave service...great touches.
