“Will definitely stay again!”

The hotel is right on the lake, with a nice clean beach and my children enjoyed using the kayaks that were available. The hotel itself is very nice. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I plan to stay there again when I want to visit Detroit Lakes again.

“OUTSTANDING!!!”

The air conditioning went when it was very hot out. They fixed the AC and put a cheese cake in our room with a thank you note for our patience! This was very appreciated!!!!! Outstanding service and facility!!!

“Pretty Good Hotel”

Overall, with one exception, we were pleased with the stay. It is a good location at the lake. The building and grounds were well maintained. The staff knew their business and acted accordingly. We opted for the optional massage in room. It was done on time and was very well conducted. We were on the lower level that granted access out the door to the grounds and beach. A balcony ran overhead and at certain times there was a lot of noise when it appeared that there was furniture, tables, chairs and such that were being moved around by the staff. The one thing that was disturbing during one night and early in the next morning we could hear normal conversations from people in adjoining rooms. This was very surprising. Other than that, we liked the place and would return, but request different rooms.

“Nice Hotel”

My teenage daughter and I were in the area on a college visit. My daughter loved this hotel. We usually travel with my husband and other daughter so we enjoyed having the room to ourselves. The room was very spacious. Plenty of room to move around. Beautiful view of the lake. The bathroom was spacious too. Lots of counter space. My daughter loved the "make-up mirror" in the bathroom. The breakfast was very nice. We've been staying in a lot of hotels this past year and we both put this one at the top of our list. Lots of fresh fruit, great hot egg dish, couple of choices of juice, pastries, cereal. My daughter made herself a waffle and said it was awesome. Our only issue is that we could hear the older couple next to us so I don't think the sound-proofing is great. My daughter could hear the wife yelling at her husband snoring during the night. They got up about an hour before we were going to get up. But their voices woke my daughter and she woke me up. We finally turned our TV on so we could drown out their constant talking. All in all, we would return if we are in the area.

“Overrated underperformed”

Nicely done hotel on the lake with boat docks, swimming beach, etc.--comfortable bed, but housekeeping, maintenance and management leave something to be desired. Fire alarms went off after we went to bed one night due to smoking pool motor. Stood in parking lot with mosquitoes for half an hour in pjs and bare feet. No apology or discount for the discomfort were forthcoming and management was nowhere in sight when firefighters allowed us back in the hotel. Drapes off hook, housekeeping only there until 1 p.m. so if you don't leave your room until noon, nothing done. Nit-picky little things, but ruined the experience. Thought I would have a balcony but got full kitchen instead so started out disappointed, tho my own fault for not checking more closely. I expect more in small town America when I'm paying over too much for a room. Won!'t stay there again
