“Would stay again without doubt”
Our stay was for a weekend, although the weather was not good everything at the hotel was. The staff were very friendly, on arrival the receptionist was most polite and charming (10:00pm). There was so much to choose from for breakfast and the staff in the breakfast room were so polite and helpful. Our or should I say my wifes only dissapointment was she thought that our room would have a four poster bed as in the photo. Otherwise a very peacefull and enjoyable weekend.
“Would definitely use this hotel again.”
A beautiful, well kept hotel with friendly staff and stunning location. A real country retreat! Felt very safe and comfortable which is very important as I was staying their on my own

Food delicious, and service fast but you were not rushed, The waitress at breakfast so friendly, also the housekeeping staff and receptionist. all seemed to like there job no misserable faces; As we have family that live nearby will book again soon, also happy with the price. “Christmas in Devon”
A great character hotel in the English country side. The room was nice and warm; an important feature as the weather was very cold. Good free wifi internet; the room was quiet. The staff were especially friendly and welcoming; this was appreciated as it was christmas and l was alone. The bar and restaurant were good quality and value.
“staff are the best!!”
Staff wonderful. Excellent service. Room felt a little bit more like a guest house than hotel, needed a tiny little bit of redecoration in places. This in an old hotel rather than a modern new build, so some quirkiness expected. TV mounted on wall but was in an impossible place to view easily from the bed. The room was warm, comfy, and had a wonderful view! We ate in the restaurant and were the only diners, but did not feel strange.........The service was impeccable. This was a cold feb weekend with snow in most of the country. The actual food was not really up to same standard as the service, which was a shame, but it was very welcome after a long journey. We were able to get a very good rate for this hotel, so all in all we were very pleased.
