Classic country farmhousePosted Jul 25, 2014
We received a warm welcome and had a very comfortable night at Downtown Farm. The breakfast with home made sausage was very good and we enjoyed looking around the farm. If you are after all the mod cons then go elsewhere, this place has a lovely authentic feel of a working farm and is well located in the centre of Dartmoor.

Nice B&b but owner not very friendly.Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Location, nice house.
Cons: Customer service
Location: Nice location and two good pubs nearby. Close to cycle route 27, and walks on Dartmoor.
When we arrived in the rain with our bikes, we were told off in a terrible manner about where to put our bikes. As soon as she showed us our room we were bombarded with questions about breakfast; when what and how. She also did not do vegetarian sausages as she "did not understand, why people who are vegetarian still want to eat a sausage". When we returned from our meal in the pub, she had been in our room! the curtains were closed and the bedspread and frilly cushions had disappeared!! The breakfast was disappointed, my poached egg was not runny, as it should be. This woman has to learn about customer service, she is very blunt and you certainly Do Not enter your customer's room unless they give your permission to do so. I certainly would not stay there again.

Almost perfectPosted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: The grounds and animals
Cons: The bed
Beautiful little farmhouse bed and breakfast in a small working farm. Lovely grounds to walk round and very relaxing. Welcoming and non-intrusive hosts. Only complaint very squeaky double bed led to a poor night's sleep.
