“Great place to stay in Exeter”
My husband and I stayed at the Queen's Court in Exeter. We chose it because of recommendations which we read on the internet and weren't disappointed. Our room was comfortable and spacious. We appreciated the cookies which had been left with the tea and coffee in the room. The weather was very cold while we were there but the room was always cosy. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of hot and cold dishes. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evenings but had a look at the menu and found it to be very appealing. Altogether a very good experience. We would go back and have no hesitation in recommending it.
“Great Hotel in Exeter”
A very clean and smart hotel opposite a quiet square in the heart of Exeter. Ideal if your travelling by train as Exeter Central Station is less than 5 minutes walk away. Bedrooms and Breakfast area are very good, nothing I can fault really.
“Great choice”
I was extremely happy with this hotel. It is very central but extremely quiet and exceptional value for money. There is a car park immediately opposite, for which the check-in staff will issue a voucher so no payment need be made until 10.00 am. Walking time to the High Street is 5 minutes, so wonderfully convenient. I was struck by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Also, breakfast, which is included in the price, was wonderful, fresh and plentiful. On this particular occasion there was a small problem with the boiler so that there was not enough hot water for a shower in the morning, but this was obviously a one-off and would not stop me staying here again. The staff could not have been more apologetic or more accommodating. Highly recommended.
“All in all a pleasant experience!”
My Daughter and I stayed here overnight and were pleased with the whole experience the Reception staff were very helpful The rooms we had very pleasant and very clean. Our breakfast the following morning was more than adequate in lovely surroundings. I would recommend the hotel as it is close to shopping area, station, and I did not have to use car to see Cathedral and even walked to quayside area on the river. If I have to come to Exeter again I would stay again at the Queens Court Hotel.
“Relaxing”
Comfortable and homely. Great that they give you a free parking ticket.
“Short holiday break”
Found this hotel at short notice when looking for a few days break with the family. Is conveniently located - just a few minutes walk to the railway stations and the city centre. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was good quality, freshly cooked to individual order.
“Friendly staff and highly recommended breakfast”
All staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the restaurant attached to the hotel was the best we had on our whole trip. Hotel was in a good location, a short walk from Exeter city centre and car parking (in the public car park at the front of the hotel) was paid for between 4pm and 10am. Overall I would recommend as a place to stay
“Great central location”
I have stayed at this hotel several times before and always been delighted with it. This time, however, we were given a room on the top floor. The floors slope quite badly up there, and we felt uncomfortable, as if we would fall out of bed! Having said that, the service was as good as ever and the breakfast the best I have had anywhere.
“Nice quiet, clean hotel”
Although the hotel is showing its age, it was spotless and quiet. I asked for either of 2 specific rooms in the special request section of the booking form but was given neither and i wondered if they ever bother to read this as the receptionist seemed confused about it. That aside, the staff were welcoming and very helpful, but It would've been a nice gesture had they showed you to the room and pointed out the location of the light switches, However i asked for more sugar and milk and this was provided promptly. The room was on the 3rd floor & was on the smallish side for a double but a large bathroom, it was adequate for my needs and cosy, the bed was very comfortable but I think a couple may be bumping into eachother. If you are taller than 5ft 6" you'll have to duck in places in the room notably the bathroom because of sloping roof beams but this is a minor irritation. Overall i had a very pleasant stay & can recommend. NOTE: --The lift only goes to the second floor but its only a small number of stairs to the third. The corridoor lights are on a timer and the switch was a little difficult to find after exiting the lift and a bit scarey in the dark but once you've sussed it, its no problem. The church bells sound on a sunday morning and can be clearly heard when staying in the rear of the property, this wasn't a problem for me as i used them as a wake up call. Check out is 11am which is later than most places i've stayed but it is lovely as you do not feel at all rushed.
“April 2012 visit”
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food at the Olive Tree restaurant in the hotel. Central location with great access to all amenities.
