Clean and spacious rooms.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Bed rooms very clean and spacious
Cons: Cleanliness outside of hotel. Meals!
Location: Not much to do at all.
Bed rooms very spacious and clean. Lovely old building that could do with some attention especially on outside. Lots of rubbish scattered around outside which was disappointing. Outdoor tables had dirty ash trays and dirty cups/saucers for 2 days. Staff friendly although often working obviously short staffed especially in bar area. One person for 2-3 coaches plus private guests at one stage.Meals very average. Buffet style which had obviously been sitting for long time. Fish / meat very dry. Breakfast on one day dreadful. 2-3 coach tours in . Was disorganised and long que when trying to get breakfast. Would not eat here again.

The Caraneal

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Although the Caraneals appearance is some what old fashioned, the staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I visit Plymouth quite regularly and would use The Caraneal again.

Home from home!

We stayed here for 1 night when visiting Plymouth to collect our daughter and all her belongings after her 2nd year at the College of Art. This is, by far, the nicest and cleanest B&B that we've stayed in and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing and less expensive stay in Plymouth than staying at one of the big hotels.

A good stay. Great value for money

I booked this quite last minute and was not quite sure what to expect and was worried I should have gone for the more expensive chain hotels. I needn't have worried, the room was large and spotless and the breakfast was superb. All for at least £20-£30 less than a hotel. Recommended.

overall excellent service

Posted Mar 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room was very clean & practically equipped, plus a large shower cabinet . Breakfast was very good, and served with a loving smile by Angie who made our trip one to remember, splendid lady! Parking was no problem, just remember to get an all-day parking permit from 10 a.m. upto 4 p.m. = only £2.00. After these hours parking is free. Location was very close to the bottom part of the Hoe, so we got very bracing 'ozone shots' when walking along the seafront. Would definitely stay there again. Room rate was competitive, and overall service level excellent.

Clean, Comfortable and Friendly

Posted Aug 20, 2011
We visited Plymouth for the Firework Contest this August. The B& B was very well run clean comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfast was good and the atmosphere was very friendly. When we first pulled up outside we were a bit put off, as the house next door appeared to be empty and in need of attention, but once we walked through the door we were very pleased with the accommodation. The proximity to the Hoe was a plus as we only had a few minutes walk from the house. Parking was available outside - free from 4pm to 10am and passes were available if you were leaving your car to explore Plymouth. We would certainly use this B&B again.
