This is a truly fabulous hotel with the level of service second to none. We were made to feel special from the time we arrived to the moment we left. The staff are exceptionally friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The little personal touches that they did made the whole stay truly magical. To putting up birthday banners as they were aware it was a birthday trip to the candle in the morning in our weetabix. The food was also top quality and the whole experience was excellent. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will hopefully have another stay there in the future.
We had to make a last minute booking and the staff were very accommodating. Room was very comfortable and all amenities were available. Dining room was spacious, and breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is a wonderful old building with lots of quaint features. It was quiet and friendly. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Lots of places to visit nearby. Gardens are beautiful and have lots of outdoor seating for use.
I will definitely be going back to the Edgemoore for another holiday. I loved it there. Highly recommended!!

Amazing facilities.
Superb room, very comfortable bed and soft linens.
great spacious bathroom, nice hot shower, soft and clean towels.
Dinner was incredible.
Breakfast was unforgettable! Very good!
Great find tucked away in a quiet scenic location. Very welcoming reception from staff who also gave attentive service. Excellent restaurant providing a good varied choice of dishes all cooked and presented to a high standard. Breakfast also just right for the day ahead. Room was comfortable and well appointed and we had a good nights sleep. Overall a well run family hotel, which we would recommend without hesitation and look forward to staying again. A*

I loved everything about my stay I would go as far as saying the food is better than Giddley
It’s not very often I review poorly across the board as there is alway something I find to my liking but sadly not here from the ripped curtains in the hallway the smelly carpets throughout and the abundance of cob webs hanging from the ceiling I was left to contemplate the dinner which again I would score a poor 0 I question how so much on a table of four could go so wrong from the poor service with no wine menu being offered till desert the speed as to which the food come and went which was marathon in feel certainly not a relaxed experience for any of our party! From starter with food not cooked and prepared as advertised on the menu to chewy meat that had no business being sold to anyone bones in fish and a lamb dish which was not edible can’t bring myself to talk about the pudding breakfast was ok ish loved the really friendly waitress and it was the only time during our stay that we felt welcome it was a beautiful building and in the right hands could be amazing but as it is I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone and at the cost of nearly £300 for the one night they should be ashamed
I travel a lot for work. Didn’t expect much from this 3 star hotel but it was way better than most. Superior room turned out to be a suite with four-poster.
Lovely grounds, friendly, local staff a very quiet night and great breakfast.
I will definitely be back.
Comfortable hotel in what looks like a great location for those wanting to explore Dartmoor. The food was very goo and staff friendly.
My only criticism is I I found the lighting in the room dingy.
Stayed here several years ago, enjoyed the latest stay even more! Staff so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We had our dogs with us, we had a special dog friendly room which is equipped with dog blankets, dog towels, dishes, food mats, treats and a ball each! they loved their stay too
I booked my lads into this hotel and they came back with excellent comments. All said they would definitely stay again when working in the area, bedrooms were lovely, food was plentiful and service was the best they have had in a long time. That makes me happy as I book all their rooms across the country and its nice to find they like the hotels I choose for them.
Stayed for 3 nights with my daughter and our greyhound. It's our second stay and the welcome is excellent. Facilities for dogs is fantastic and all are made very welcome inside the hotel with a separate garden just for dogs by the rooms. Great breakfasts, cooked well and served quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, I cannot fault the food, the room and the staff. I would recommend this hotel although cannot say anything for the surrounding area as I arrived at night and went off to work the next day but I've heard it's lovely in the summer, looking forward to visiting again then!
Lovely Hotel in a great location. Ideal for the moors. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The staff where very efficient, most helpful and friendly I will say there again if in the area
An attractive building with lovely gardens. We had two rooms ( we were asked to change rooms to accommodate guests for a wedding) the first one frankly was very small, with insufficient storage facilities and noisy. The second room was completely different being more modern, roomy with excellent facilities.
The food was excellent as were the staff.
We would happily recommend the hotel provided the accommodation was in the newer section.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay, very welcoming and food excellent just on the edge of Dartmoor so ideal for everyone. The staff were very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble.
well looked after by a helpful receptionist, very comfortable room overlooking the front lawn and in the morning had a freshly cooked full English breakfast. We will surely stay again when in the area.

Enjoyable stay at The Edgemoor Hotel
I booked the hotel on business and the room was cozy enough and a nice quiet location. It has an old, relaxed feel about it. I would definitely stay there again
We went for my wife's 40th birthday, we had honeymoon suite and it was superb! Excellent food on both nights. We also was there for burns night, that was lovely too. Owners, Simon and heather was very friendly, welcoming and we are going back in June.
This is a wonderful little hotel in a nice setting on the edge of Dartmoor. It is an extremely well-run place with a wonderful staff and really delicious meals, the breakfasts were sooooo good. The rooms were a decent size, some are bigger than others and there was good central heating and always hot water for baths or showers. The parking was convenient and with plenty of spaces. We all enjoyed our stay and will certainly return when possible. It should be noted that the place was built back in the 1890's and so there are things to be replaced but the owners are always looking to improve things. I would certainly give it a 5 rating.
