Perfect for that little 'get-away' stay.
The hotel is very well appointed. Very to close to the beach, buses and railway station. It is however located on a short, but steep hill, that we feel is not suited for those persons with mobility constraints, as there are no lifts. Whilst the owner and staff are very accommodating, apart from a very substantial breakfast, there were no other meals available - due to a shortage of staff. But that is everywhere now. Overall our experience is a very positive one. Well done to all. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Lisa the owner is a lovely lady and always laughing and friendly. The hotel is located behind the train station and a few minute's walk from the sea front. The hotel and gardens are beautiful and the lounge, restaurant and conservatory are lovely. The pool and sunloungers are excellent and the huge front garden is wonderful and a miniature nature reserve including woodpeckers etc! I highly recommend this establishment and we have been able to stay for a few more day's as we've enjoyed ourselves so much! We will be back!! Thank you very much 😊!

Nicely located close to the centre of Torquay, yet situated in a quiet area. We had a most relaxing three night stay here.

Superb stay.
Had a fantastic week at the Elmington Hotel Liza the owner was so friendly nothing was to much trouble, beautiful hotel very clean great room looking over beautiful gardens and a sea view, would recommend to everyone, fantastic value for money.

A happy accident
I booked two nights at short notice and was pleasantly surprised. The Elmington is an old building a bit like Fawlty Towers but is tastefully and comfortably appointed. Breakfast is part served and part self service and was very good. Outside is a well maintained swimming pool and gardens, this is a hotel you could come to and not need to go outside. There is a small car park at the front of the Hotel and a larger car park accessed via the gardens run by a third party but free to residents, from this car park the station is only a couple of hundred yards away. Heading for Torquay? give the Elmington a try.

The hotel was so clean and the staff were very accommodating. Lisa the host was a lovely lady and worked hard every day to make sure everyone was happy. A lovely week at a lovely hotel.

This is a very beautiful place to stay if you enjoy places such as museums and art galleries. It is not modern in its style, but is full of old furniture, paintings, ornaments, vases etc but is immaculately clean. The gardens are beautifully tended. It felt like staying in a stately home.

Absolutely outstanding hotel. Fantastic location close to the popular Corbyn's beach. Very clean rooms with comfortable bed and wonderful sea views from our spacious second floor room. Excellent shower and wash room. Fabulous English all you could eat buffet breakfast every morning. Hotel staff were always greeted us with a welcoming smile and friendly. Hotel outdoor swimming pool was a bonus which we used a few times during our 13 night stay. We will definitely return again.

Lovely hotel with pool, but insufficient loungers
This hotel had lovely decor and was really well located for the train station. Also, the swimming pool was great. The negatives are not enough loungers - only about 8. Limited bar selection of drinks & breakfast was only served 8.00 - 9.00.

Lovely outdoor pool
Friendly host and room with a lovely view. Could have done with black out curtains as it was luckily very sunny. Breakfast was very limited e.g. no fruit or yoghurt. Location very convenient being just a few minutes walk from the station. So mixed feelings but trumped by the beautiful outdoor pool which is a decent size to get some laps in, slightly heated (to take edge off) and not busy. Provided the weather is great and the pool can be used, the Elmington is unbeatable for facilities and value.

Hotel was very clean and tidy staff were excellent but the beds want replaceing as for the shower you couldn’t swing a cat round pay good money like anyone else and they think you are not going to state your mine

Super location, very good hotel.
A cozy and well-kept hotel, very nice and helpful staff. Very close to the train station and to many attractions and interesting places in the area and the beach. Minus are single beds in some rooms, which I and my wife with a 2-year internship were not satisfied with. In general, the hotel would count on a plus and recommend to friends.

Nice hotel
For my weekend break, the room was comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. As I came by train, the fact that it was close to Torquay station was an important factor in my choice.

This hotel was a 2 minute walk from the train station, its very nice well kept and very clean. The food was excellent and hot! Rooms had on suite and were all newly done beds were comfortable and clean. The host was very welcoming, overall we were very pleased.

Beautiful hotel
Lovely hotel, in a good location near Railway, also close to the beach. The breakfast area was clean and tidy, service was great. Wonderful staff and host. Bedroom was spacious with twin bed, the shower was OK but knob for temperature kept falling off, didn't bother me. It was relaxing stay. I would recommend this hotel.

English Breakfast was good, but the room was small and smelled a little bit funky and the water didn't come out very well. Additionally, I could clearly hear the noise through the thin wall.

Nothing fancy but just relaxing.
Ok this independent hotel is not going to be the place if you want a 'posh' weekend away. It is in fact competently standard. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the breakfast is traditional with nothing fancy added in. I imagine a bit of sunshine would brighten up the place no end but we enjoyed our late September stay even though the weather was not the best.

On arrival we had a problem on access to the hotel the door was locked no one answered the door bell, fortunately two guests arrived and let us in which was lucky as it was raining. Superb Hotel in a great location
Lovely hotel in an older style, decorated and furnished extremely well. We had a sea view room which was superb. Liza the owner made everyone feel very welcome. She never stopped laughing. She was extremely helpful ordering taxis, recommending places to go and where to eat. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to use the very clean pool. Maybe next time!

Nice hotel
Lovely hotel run by a very nice lady who never stops to please her customers. Our room was pleasant,clean and had everything we needed. The hotel is located about 25 min walk from the harbour in quiet part of town. 2 min away from train station. It has got an outside pool. Shame we couldn’t use it because of the rainy weather

Small friendly hotel, excellent location.
Slightly quirky hotel, which like several Torbay hotels could benefit from some updating and investment. I had super friendly welcome, though not that informative! My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Needed a towel rail in bathroom, plus new bath towels, which were very worn. Toilet had a tendency to produce drain smells when flushed. Lovely relaxed breakfast with good buffet. Hotel site on steep hill so parking a little awkward which could create accessibility issues. Nice garden and pool.

Elmington Hotel
The Elmington Hotel is a gem. Location is great, right next to Torquay train station and only a short walk to bars and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, very quiet and if you are lucky enough to get a room at the front the views are spectacular. The outdoor pool is a great added bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The was closed to a train station.
The hotel was ok but we was put on the top floor so we had to clim 4 flights of stairs to get yo our room because there was no lift so it is not a good place to stay if you have got bad feet and legs and can not walk very well. There was a bar but no one around to severe you drinks and no evening meals which dose not mention when you book all so you have to pay for the room before you even step in it wich i did not liked,it makes you fill not trusted. All in all i will not be going back.😊

Great place to stay
Fabulous place. Real quirky style and Spotlessly clean. Rooms are lovely - ours had very comfortable four poster and overlooked pool, gardens and sea. The bed linen is of good quality with a choice of pillows available. There are great communal areas in which to relax, including a small bar, a terrace and an immaculate heated pool. Buffet breakfast is ample - cooked food made in batches so nice and hot. Variety of cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. As much toast and coffee/tea as required is brought to the table. Liza and her staff are friendly and efficient. This is a gem of a find and we will definitely be back!

Short stay in Torquay
Very near railway station and in a quiet residential area. Ideal for the beach and short walk to Torquay. Basic breakfast buffett but the place has a lot of character and a great swimming pool.
