Kelly was a wonderful host who clearly takes so much pride in her property. The room I had was comfortable with a great shower. I had the window open overnight due to the heatwave but it was lovelt and quiet all night. Would definitely visit again!

Great hotel nothing to much trouble for kelly we were part of a friend's get together for the weekend with 6 youngsters they had a brill time playing in the outdoor pool and in the games room brilliant weekend

Enjoyable stay at this hotel.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Owner Kelly and her staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the food was well cooked and presented. Nice swimming pool and bar. Family friendly hotel. We would stay here again and can recommend based on our stay at The Glenorleigh.

Excellent attention to detail the room was beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was 5 * The fresh fruit salad was amazing. A lovely swimming pool, with a beautiful south facing balcony close to a well stocked bar. In all my stay was first class. Thank you Kelly and staff.

Great stay...lovely host and quiet hotel .Perfect for a weekend of work. Just a shame i missed breakfast as had to be out so early.

Checked in- cash .£120 for 2 nights.The pool is fab. My single room was so small.There was no wardrobe. Dunelm Dungeon. Slept well. The shower would not work. It was stuck. I told staff.Breakfast was nice. I went back to my room. The heating was on. I felt claustrophobic for the 1st time in my life. The room was so pokey. Right by the front door of the hotel- noisy.Guests could look in on you.Had a good day, became aware there were better rooms in Torquay available for the same price. I rang to see if I could be put in a different room at Glenorlleigh or be released from my contract. I explained I thought the room was like a prison cell. The manager was booking in new arrivals.Agreed to call back in 10 mins. She didn’t pick up five times. In voicemails I repeated my problem with the room. When I did eventually speak to her she accused me of being rude about her B&B and taking advantage of her because she was on her own.She called police and directed that I should leave ASAP. I should take up the refund issue with Expedia despite the fact that I had paid cash in adv. Eventually she said I could have a refund. I returned to the hotel to collect my belongings.She had changed her mind again. I would need to take up the issue of a refund with Expedia. She was dealing with other guests as I came to collect my property. She was hostile and intimidating to me. I felt vulnerable so fled.I left town, I then realised I still had the room key.She began to bombard me with calls.

My stay was excellent. We were treated superbly. The atmosphere was very friendly, service great. Our room was clean and comfortable. The proprietor could not do enough to help us. A totally enjoyable stay. I would really recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very pleasant stay
Very good B and B. The owner was very friendly, and so were her staff. Breakfasts were excellent. Only very small downside, there’s not a great deal of on site parking. The swimming pool is a big positive, even if you don’t use the pool there is a lovely terrace to sit and have a drink overlooking the pool.

The hotel is spotless,the food is great,check out the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Kelly is a superb,friendly host who pointed us in the direction of a few places to eat and visit. The heated outdoor pool a bonus, even in the rain!

I had read a lot of excellent reviews and my visit didn’t disappoint. We had a lovely time. The heated pool was amazing and the breakfast cooked to order was fantastic. The games room and facilities were great. The location was really convenient - walking distance to the sea front and shops. We’ll definitely be back - thanks so much Kelly!

Felt like home
A huge thank you to Kelly for making our stay a very pleasant one. As soon as we arrived we had a very warm welcome and even our little daughter felt right at home. The room was a nice size and there was a guest living room & lovely dining area and heated outdoor pool. Breakfast was delicious and was cooked immaculately by Kelly. Would definitely recommend this guest house if anyone is visiting Torquay.

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff
From the moment we arrived to the time of departure, nothing was too much trouble for Kelly and her girls. We brought our own milk due to intolerances and we were allowed to help ourselves when needed from their fridge. The breakfasts were very filling with everything from cereals and toast, to fruit salad and full English. We had a couple of takeaways and Kelly phoned in the order to avoid paying a delivery charge. The pool was a great bonus with plenty of sunbeds/chairs, and inflatables for the kids (big and small) and pool towels are provided. There's a sitting room with TV and dvd player and a Wii games console. A pool table is available too. A small but very well stocked bar is here too. The room we stayed in was a good size with a double and a single bed. TV, tea/coffee and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was on the snug size but manageable. We all slept very well. I don't know how Kelly manages to run such a great b&b with such a small crew but she's certainly a natural.

Very good value hotel. Manager is very friendly and eager to please. Breakfasts cooked to order and everything very clean. Single room rather small with no hanging space. Limited space to put my toiletries in bathroom and no proper towel rail. Lovely pool, if rather cold! Lovely seating areas indoors and out. Conveniently located for Torre station in nice residential area. However, a bit of a walk to the town centre, harbour and beach. Parking a little limited.

After staying here it’s hard to stay anywhere else. Kelly, the owner is an extremely dedicated host, she makes you feel welcome in every way from the very first encounter. It is obvious that she takes this to heart as her house is absolutely gorgeous in every detail, and the customers are not just customers, but become friends. Breakfast was superb. Room was out of this world. I am going to miss this place and will definitely have to come back! Thank you Kelly for the wonderful time we had at your place! Madalina, Cheryl and the kids.

Nice, quiet, great breakfast.
Short stay (2 nights) convenient location, Just a short walk to the town or seafront. the owner was great, friendly and helpful. We spoke with other returning guests who were also very enthusiastic in their praise.

Loved Our Stay
Friendly, helpful hostess who made excellent restaurant recommendations and even made the bookings and gave us a ride. Quiet location away from traffic noise. Tastefully decorated, large room with large ensuite bathroom. Comfortable bed with fine linens. Wonderful breakfast of quality offerings including a truly "fresh" fruit salad. The breakfast room overlooks the back yard which is well landscaped and includes a pool. This lovely former hotel is being beautifully renovated. Within easy walking distance to the town centre. Our room was on the main floor so if you have mobility issues this is fine - athough breakfast is on the floor below so one needs to manage them. TV is of a good size and internet connections are good.

The Glenorleigh - a warm welcome
John and Kelly made us feel most welcome at The Glenorleigh and they did all they could to help us make the best of our stay. It was just over a mile walk into the centre of town - but an easy walk with plenty to see on route. The Glenorleigh is a clean, comfortable and friendly hotel with a lovely pool - would definitely stay again :-)

Traditional guest house with a fab heated pool
Stayed here for a short break & really enjoyed it. The pool in the sunny weather is sublime...and heated!!! Such a feature. Went there for a bike trip to Torquay with a friend and would happily visit Glenorleigh again. David was great, very helpful and the rest of the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from, and of course went for the full english...when in Rome :) Many thanks to you all for a wonderful short getaway!

Tres bon séjour, chambres propres et comfortables (l’une - la Marldon - étant cependant vraiment petite), quartier au calme tout en étant tres proche du front de mer et du centre de Torquay. Tres bon petit dejeuner.

Flott nyoppusset hotell med personlig service
Hotellet er pent og nyoppusset. Vi fikk et stort familierom for fire med eget bad. Rommet var lekkert med delikate farger. Tekoker og servise var holdt i matchende farger. Nelly som driver hotellet er en utmerket vert. Frokosten er et kapittel for seg, med individuell bestilling og servering ved bordene. Kellys fruktsalat er utmerket. Hotellet har et pent uteområde med basseng, som vi benyttet når været ikke tilsa bading på stranden. Dessverre fakturerte hotellet vesentlig mer enn avtalt pris, noe som trekker ned fra det som ellers ville vært topp karakter.
