Frist Class Hotel
I would not hesitate to recommend the Globe Inn. Friendly and helpful staff and very helpful chef too. A really nice place to stay.

Good Location
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff Room was comfortable with a good sized bathroom. Coffee and tea provided along with biscuits and a chocolate. Nice touch. The evening meal was tasty. The starter of goats cheese parcels was excellent. The main meal was a local beef and ale pie which was very tasty. The menu was limited due to staff shortages but the selection was still very good. We had a lovely cooked breakfast with a good choice of cereals and bread. There were several options available. Reasonable price.

Chagford will not be on everyone's list, but if you come to Dartmoor there is no better home base. And The Globe Inn is definitely the place to stay. Our room was like an apartment and beautifully appointed. Downstairs is a nice dining room and friendly pub. Experience small town English life from this welcoming inn.

Dissapointing that Breakfast started at 08.30am. I was on a business trip. So no breakfast was consumed. I adjed the evening before and i was advised that they could not promise. Sadly i will not use the Golbe again for a business trip.

The Globe was very Covid secure, which is good in this day and age, but retained the friendliness and service of a quaint Dartmoor pub.

The Globe is very charming - a super historic building in the terrif village of Chagford - one of my favourite places in the world. It is opposite the wonderful church and has lots of character. I was greeted in an efficient and friendly way and everything was spot on. Great size room with a lovely view of the church. Lovely little sunny beer garden. Tasty fresh food. All my fellow customers seemed to be enjoying their stays. One of the nicest things is to just potter around Chagford and for days out your are surrounded by incredible countryside and Dartmoor. THE perfect location.

Just lovely! A warm welcome to a spacious room and en-suite. It’s a great place to stay for a trip to Dartmoor - food is excellent, logs fires to sit by ales and wines what else do you need

little find in a picturesque village!
Stayed for one night on a business trip but will be back for a weekend break! Amazing picturesque village and The Globe Inn was a great little find. Lovely clean room and comfortable. We ordered in the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Breakfast was also delicious and the poached eggs were spot on! The staff are really friendly and helpful. The village has a few other restaurants and pubs which we didn’t get to try as we were only there for one night but I will definitely be coming back!

Squeaky clean
Only stayed one night. Friendly and welcoming staff comfortable rooms. If I had a criticism it would be that the bed squeaked (not good when it's the first time away from the kids in a long time) and although we were aware that they stopped serving food at 9.00 I was a little disappointed when we got back at 9.15 and nothing was on offer. But in fairness, it was a Monday night. Breakfast was lovely and overall 8/10.

Charming, quant small town. Friendly staff that even offered to loan us maps of Dart Moor National Park. Clean, quiet room & bath felt more like a room in a friends home.Large bathroom with tub , plenty of hot water. Full English breakfast that was served in charming small dining room. Restaurant is know for its fish.. looked lovely with large portions.. unfortunately we had already eaten so we didn’t taste it. The parking was within 5 min walk 4 pounds for night or on street parking. Wished we had another night to explore the area!

Expedia is useless - wouldn't use them again. The hotel was excellent and provided much better service than Expedia said. Parking overnight quite easy too. Staircase a bit steep ifor suitacses if you're "getting on"! There's a NatWest ATM in the village, too.

Comfortable hotel in the middle of the village
Nice hotel in the middle of the village close to all local amenities. Comfortable room, although bed a little firm. Shower was hot but weak, and on a cold and frosty morning was not what I wanted!! Good breakfast and helpful/friendly staff. Hotel does not have car parking facilities, but there is a public car park about 50 metres away and for £2.50 pd you get all day parking. Best to check price with hotel. Roads leading to this small village are very narrow and you will have to run the gauntlet with large timber lorries, which often mean having to reverse back a few hundred yards to the next passing bay!! Exciting :-)

The Globe Inn is a lovely place to stay, its centrally located in Chagford and the moors are easy accessible. Breakfast was great as was the steak and ale pie we sampled the night before. On top of that the real ale went down a treat.

Beware of stylish but noisy antique bed!
We generally had a satisfactory stay. We booked the Jasmine family room as it was the only room available at the time of booking, this turned out to be a blessing as the springs of the antique double bed were so noisy we had to use the two single beds instead, the slightest movement was enough to wake my partner. Lack of own car park is also unfortunate.

Great village on the edge of Dartmoor
Short stay on way to Cornwall. Sleepy village on the edge of Dartmoor. Hotel was really good, food good and a good nights sleep. The only thing to be carefull of is that a Satnav will take you into the village by the back road which is only 7 feet wide in parts so be carefull especially if you have a big car

Nice Christmastide spirit
A terrific inn off the beaten path. We stayed for one night on our way through Dartmoor leading up to Christmas. The inn was lively downstairs with carolers and a festive atmosphere. My daughter counted 100+ santas stationed in every nook and cranny. Upstairs was comfortable and quiet for the night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Outstanding Inn
We really enjoyed our stay in the Globe. Granted Chagford is off the beaten track but we knew that. Some people may find an issue with the church bells ringing every hour (the church was across the street) but we had no problem with this. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Internet was good and the breakfast was excellent.
