Great staff great foodPosted Nov 17, 2013
Stayed at the Sommerville for 5 nights recently. The hotel is rated as a five star. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is definitely more a guest house/B&B. as far as B&B's go it was great. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfasts were also fantastic. Better than any big hotel i had stayed in. However the rooms were fairly standard. A few little extras like sweets and fresh ground coffee in the rooms. But for a 5 star you expect this at the least. Personally the beds and pillows were too soft for mine and my partners preference but none the less very comfy and if you like soft then you would love it. All in all enjoyed the stay. Would recommend to a friend. Perhaps for a 5 star hotel you might expect more, however as this is really a big B&B, the service makes up for the lack of a pool/gym/baths in the bathrooms etc. and the bar prices are very reasonable.

Nice HotelPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Very clean and nice breakfast.
Cons: Have a later breakfast and not so many ornaments.
Location: Good location close to all the amenities.
We had booked a deluxe double room with king size bed that is not what we got. We had a very small room with a double bed, we had no outlook outside and felt very cramped, it was room 10.

These comments are quite baffling. We have not had a double bed in the building for about six years or more. All of our beds are king sized or bigger. I can confirm 100% that room 10 has and always has had a king sized bed. Perceptions of space are quite subjective and what some guests might perceive as cramped might seem quite spacious to other guests. At no point during their stay did the guests raise any queries or concerns with us. The guests did indeed get the room that they paid for. We are always happy to discuss requirements guests might have in advance of booking and we have rooms ranging from standard double rooms through to large suites.

Absolute pure luxury. The room was clean and bright, and decorated to a high specification. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Every need was met. The staff were fantastic and the breakfast was superb. Definitely stay again.

Fabulous!Posted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: Beautifully appointed rooms, very accommodating staff.
Cons: Can't think of any!
Location: Beautiful, close enough to the front to walk but far enough away to avoid noise.
One of the hottest weeks in 7 years so air conditioning would have been great, however this type of heat wave is probably not the norm so it probably wouldn't be cost efficient. Otherwise, beautiful, comfortable and very welcoming!

If only we had more weather like the heat wave we've had this July..... to be honest if we did have more of it and more regualrly then the expense of installing airconditioning would be a delight rather than a burden....

Everything about this place is extremely professional. Adam & Grant can read just how much there customers want in the way of attention & offer that service so if you want information you 've got it or peace & quiet they leave you alone.A totally relaxing experience.Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in & we've been in a few !
