The hotel was not wat my family expected. Their we're rodents running around and noise all night. The pool was OK but the hot tub was cold.. I would not recommended this hotel to my friends. The brochure fooled me hopefully it doesn't fool you.

Affordable but not fancy

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: There's plenty of places nearby. The price was good. The landscape is nice.
Cons: If this hotel were to be renovated, it could be really nice. It needs updating.
Location: Gulf Island Waterpark is 15 minutes away. There's a subway, a DairyQueen, a gas station, and a restaurant all within walking distance of the hotel.
This was definitely a nice hotel at some point in time. The indoor pool and hot tub must have been quite charming. Age has taken its toll on the place. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was the temperature the pool should have been. The room was small and a bit mucky. The towels were old. The other guests were a bit loud into the late night hours.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: They really need to remodel that whole place. It is very old and outdated. Also, the place smelled awful.
Location: We enjoyed Ship Island. It is not far from the hotel.
When we arrived and checked in, everything seemed to be okay....until we saw our room. The floor was dirty, the room smelled horrible, we had one towel and no wash cloths. when I went to the front desk for wash cloths I was told that they were out of wash cloths and was handed two towels. Later on I walked past the front desk and the clerk was on the phone telling someone they had plenty of towels and wash cloths. We then went to the pool. That was a joke! The water was cold and cloudy the pool area itself was also filthy. The pool does not close until 10:30 pm so we heard screaming kids until almost 11 pm. I was not informed that there was a bar in the hotel. Our room was very close to the bar so that was another thing that kept us up until the early morning hours. My overall experience was horrible and we will NOT be back.

Just Ok

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms and lobby need updating. There were a couple small holes in a couple of the room walls that needed repair.
Location: There is a bar and restaurant across the parking lot if that's something that you want. There is a Waffle House and Burger king about two blocks away
The space was clean but the air conditioner didn't work very well so the room had a kind of musty smell. The linens and towels seemed clean but the toilet/shower room was barely big enough to stand in. The tv and furniture need some updating. Some channels on the tv were clear and some weren't. Alarm clock wouldn't set and wasn't set when we came in the room. Our visit was only for one night and we were mainly just needed a room to stay in with a shower. It sufficed what we needed but I wouldn't want to stay very long here. No continental breakfast.

Diamond in the ruff.

Posted Jul 9, 2014
The Inn need to be updated and renovated to go with it's name, because at my experience with the Inn (Diamondhead) isn't the appropriate name for it. The pictures and amenities are wrong and miss leading, I didn't see a golf course and the night club didn't appear to be welcoming. I will not recommend nor would I be staying there again until updates and cleanliness have been made!!!

Definitely not what was expected

Pros: The staff, especially at the attached restaurant, was friendly. they all seem overworked and harried though.
Cons: The property is neglected, run down. The rooms are grimy and abused. Missing paint, broken electrical outlets, missing lightbulbs, broken furniture.
Location: We stayed here because we couldn't find rooms in Biloxi or Gulfport.
This hotel is understaffed and dilapidated. Being the only one in its vicinity, it seems to be constantly booked ... overbooked, even, as I saw and heard at the font desk. The photos on the website look nice. Don't be fooled though - this hotel needs a ton of work. We had reserved rooms for two nights but stayed only one and left early. Unfortunately, because we booked through Expedia and didn't make the 24-hour notice, we were charged for the second night but didn't care.
