Great Value for the price...

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: The staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was always fresh with a reasonable selection.
Cons: The ongoing construction on I81 can be a pain. The entrance to the hotel is a bit tricky also.
Location: The mall is 10 minutes away along with quite a few restaurants. If that doesn't do it for you then Walmart and Target are also near by.
We've stayed at several hotels in the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre area. What can I say a room is a room, what makes the difference is the how the staff treats their customers and if the things that the hotel does offer is taken care.. Yes, you can pay more and get a pool or a fancy workout room or other stuff but if you are looking for a basic room with good service and a reasonable breakfast then you can't go wrong with Microtel Inn in Dickson City. Great value for the price along with great service. The staff was always friendly and willing to assist with whatever need we had. For example, I asked one day what time the breakfast buffet was over because my wife wasn't feeling well and the answer I got was, well what time would you want it to close. I replied 10am, and was told ok, 10am it is. Now can you tell where you would get such treatment?

Crisp, clean, and comfortable.

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Located just off the highway, the hotel offers comfortable rooms that look crisp and clean and have the amenities one needs on a long road trip. The hotel staff attended to us immediately on arrival and were very friendly and helped us find dinner before our arrival there. Rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. We had 2 queen beds since we were travelling with our kid. The free breakfast in the morning included make-your-own-waffles and a good spread of yogurt, breads, muffins, fruits coffee n tea. This place is definitely a great choice at a decent price. My only regret was not asking for a room on an upper floor cause all that early morning activity outside our window with cars starting, woke our kid and us. Will seek this chain out in future for sure.................

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The only problem (which was not the hotel's issue was I-81 was being repaired and the exit was blocked) cause a lengthy delay getting into the hotel area.

Creepy Crawlers!

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Hotel wasn't really bad, per se. However, we ended up leaving a day early because we found large BUGS all over our room on the morning of our third day. Worse, the clerk never even questioned why we were leaving early and almost acted annoyed he had to physically move to check us out.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast.
Location: Numerous restaurants of all types and Wegman's has everything you might need.
It's pretty good, close to the expressway, lots of restaurants and a Wegman's nearby. Easy to find and stay. Easy to leave in morning.

Nice hotel close to Marywood University.

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: The price, breakfast, and location to Marywood University.
Location: Close to I-81 interchange. Close to Marywood University. We weren't looking for things to do nearby so I can't comment on that.
Room was small but we were only there for one night. It was clean. Front desk personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable.
