“Great location, helpful staff, good value”
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel de la Poste for our first trip to Beaune. The hotel is located about 50 meters away from one of the best restaurants in Beaune (the Loiseau Bernard, formerly Bernard Marillon) just inside the old city walls. All the main attractions are within a very easy walking distance. We even walked from the train station, which is on the other side of town. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant, speaking both in English and French. The room was very beautiful, outfitted with antique furniture but with modern appointments--including a very nice, roomy, and very clean bathroom. The only thing somewhat negative I can say about the place is that the mattress was a bit soft, but not any softer than most European hotel mattresses I've been on. The breakfast was good, although there are so many great places to eat in Beaune that you may want to find another breakfast place. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner, although we hear it is quite nice.
