"A budget traveler/backpackers perspective."
I stayed in the Knights Inn Maingate with my son for a week in February, and let's just say, we are well traveled people. We've seen some dives in our travels, but this is certainly not one.
The Gist: The rooms are quaint, but clean. If you're looking for a resort stay, find one and go there. If you're looking for a quiet place to put your head down at a great price, this is your stop.
The desk staff was amazing, courteous and helpful at all times of day or night, going far beyond the call of duty to help guests.
The towels were clean and NOT worn or stained, and replaced daily.
The pillows were new, the bedding was spotless, and the mattress was new and comfortable!
The shower was clean, and hot every day.
The toilet was clean, and the bathroom fan worked.
The fridge and microwave both worked.
The carpets are worn, but they are clean.
The combo Air Conditioning/Heater unit was new, digital, and in perfect working order.
The hairdryer worked well.
The TV worked.
All 3 door locks all worked.
The donuts are actually delicious.
The pool is clean!
No hidden fees!
Sizable parking spaces!
This isn't a 5 star hotel, but I give it 5 for being an amazing Inn! It's clean, quiet and cheap. We spent our money on memories, not fancy hotel decor. We will definitely stay here next time!
Ps. You can see Wishes from the parking lot, 711 is 3 doors away, there are a dozen chain restaurants in walking distance, and The FREE Disney shuttles are timed so you can stay for the MK fireworks!
